• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does adjusting the Air Bag hard/soft switch change h/light aim?

Yes, it does. Personally, I think the "hard/soft" labeling is misleading. It should really read "high/low" for ride height. You can test this at night. Park some place that is about 50 feet away from a wall. Use a wheel chock to prevent the bike from rolling if the area is not perfectly...

7x12 trailer owners - do you have trouble loading? Any fixes?

Hopefully the boards will work, but if you do have to "release the tongue ...", please make SURE you have the wheels blocked IN BOTH DIRECTIONS and also have some bracing under the trailer to HOLD the tilt. But then you also need to be able to release the tilt (in a controlled manner), so...

    Must have been thirsty.....

Probably not 'common' or 'recommended', but certainly 'possible'. I just checked the spec sheet, capacity is 6.9 gallons. .

What Lithium battery do you recommend?

With all the reports of fires due to Lithium batteries, has anyone here experienced one? Or know of someone who has? I know they are a lot lighter and have more cranking power, but looking at it realistically, dropping 10-15 pounds(?) on a 1150 pound machine is not going to improve performance...

Dealers are refusing to work on Old Spyders!

I have seen the "10-year-rule" for MANY years, and in multiple brands. Navydad said it quite well, but there is one point that I did not see listed. Yes, parts availability might be a factor, but I can still rather easily get parts for my 43-year-old Suzuki and my 23-year-old Goldwing, so I...

Are there "Run Flat" tires for Spyders?

After reading through this thread, it appears that there might be some run-flats available, but personally, I will do whatever I can to AVOID them. Had them for a few days on a used van that I bought. Fortunately, they were near the end of legal tread life, so I put some REAL tires on there...

Who says you need a trailer?

After looking at that load, I have come to the conclusion that it just might not weigh much more than some humans I have seen in that position. However, the center of gravity and aerodynamic resistance are GREATLY changed. .

    Will this tire fit

If you are ever in this area, you are welcome to use my tools. :congrats: .

    Will this tire fit

I have not looked closely at a '20+, but I'll bet that video will work. Yeah, the plastic is all different, but if you know which end of the screwdriver to pound on, I'll bet you can figure it out. .

    Will this tire fit

The FRONTS??? That size (225/60-15) is better-suited for the REAR tire. Yes, it will probably fit, but your speedometer accuracy might be off a bit. .

Can Am - Great Ideas vs. Poor Execution. What are your thoughts?

    It's an aftermarket add-on, but it's available. https://thekneeslider.com/r18-reverse-trike-kit-for-the-honda-gold-wing-gl1800-and-f6b/ .

Where's the best place for a K-tag on the Spyder?

Yup. A quick Google search shows this: https://www.myktag.com/ PAY LOWEST TOLL WITH K-TAG K-TAG is the Kansas Turnpike’s electronic toll collection program. Using a K-TAG gives you the lowest toll rate. .

Good price on a trailer if interested

You are very correct, anyone CAN go on FB. However, there are still half a dozen or so of us that choose not to. .

Can someone explain the physics of how a tire balancer liquid works?

I have a similarly hard time understanding the balancing beads, too. Even though everybody that has tried them has said they work, I just don't understand HOW. For the time being, I will stick with the cancer-causing hunks of metal that still seem to work just fine. .

How to ride to break in a new F3L

If you want to get THAT picky, there should be no "s" at the end of "RPM", either. The "R" is for Revolutions, which is already plural. And, "Nazi" is not done in all-caps. Sorry. A lot of those typos bug me, too, but after pointing out a few of them many years ago on other forums, I just...

Its hard to get off 2 two wheels and onto three.

I think you will have a LOT fewer problems if you simply ditch the stereotypes portrayed by the pictures you are showing. Look up a Spyder group in your area, find out when they are meeting for a ride. Join them IN YOUR CAR, not on your 2-wheeer. Chances are, given your stated disabilities...

Is it possible to delete start up routine?

I don't remember if I saw it in a manual or posted here, but I think you have about 5 minutes before the system completely resets itself, so a "quick fuel stop" might qualify. .

Any air deflectors available besides Bakers?

We got the Can-Am deflectors to replace the originals. Ever so slightly larger, mount in the same location and adjust to three positions. In the 'closed' position, they are just like the stockers. In the 'intermediate' position, they bring a lot of air to the passenger. In the 'full open'...

Is it possible to delete start up routine?

I believe that 'feature' showed up in '16 or '17. Earlier models had to wait. My sister and her husband both have '14 RTLs. They turn the key ON, then put their helmets on while the bike does its 'thing', then they start the engines and leave. My wife has a '17 RTS. It's so much nicer to...

Has anyone installed modulator head lights?

Navydad, The modulator I have on my GL1500 (and have had on other bikes) works on the high beam only. Yes, it's the same bulb on the Spyder, but would be activated by lifting the shutter for the high beam. For the skeptics, there is also a photocell in the system that only allows the...
