• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    F3 idler install on Pre-2014 RT's

I finally got around to installing the F3 idler with Doc's bracket kit on my 2010 RT. Now I know there had been discussion about installing on the earlier models and whether it would work with the drive belts that have the ridges on them. The install was exactly the same as other models...

    idler pulley

I contacted my dealer to see if they had one. No luck but they did a part look up on the east coast for me and gave me several dealers that listed their inventory on the idlers. Your dealer could do the same thing. By the way, Tampa Bay Motorsports had one this morning. I got mine from a dealer...

    F3 idler on RT?

I think I'm going to try the kit Doc has and use the BRP idler on my RT. Just to see what kind of luck I have. I watched his video and the mounting will be the same on the 2010, the only difference will be the ribbed belt vs. the smooth belt. I will report my finding and expirence doing this...

Gas Mileage - FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!

I get a pretty consistent 31-32 MPG on our 2010 RT. I'm a pretty casual cruiser, no speed demon. I usually stop between 128-140 miles and fill up with 2 bars left on the gauge. I keep receipts and add up the gallons and miles.

    F3 idler on RT?

Yep, it's just not available yet.

    F3 idler on RT?

I will agree with your statement about basically it just moves to a different sped or RPM. But If I can move my vibration that I get from 55-65 mph i'll be good. That's mainly the speed i'm at. I'm just a casual cruiser, no speed demon. I just couldn't justify the high cost of the other 2...

    F3 idler on RT?

Mine is ribbed on the outside. Are the newer belts smooth? My guess is, if there's any noise it would be some sort of whine against a ribbed belt using a smooth pulley. But other than that, is there any other concerns? Are the frames the same where the pulley would bolt to on the earlier vs...

    F3 idler on RT?

I had emailed him and he said they were working on one for the older models but it's not available yet.

    F3 idler on RT?

I have been looking at the F3 idler and wondered if I can do a retrofit on my 2010 RT. I know Doc has a kit that will allow mounting for a 2014-2016 RT but he says due to a different belt design it will only fir the later year RT's. So has anyone been able to retrofit this onto an earlier year...

    What is your belt gap?

You more than likely correct. I've been smelling a burnt rubber smell at times and that would point to the belt rubbing the flange. I guess I'll adjust it tomorrow and move to the left a little.

    What is your belt gap?

I was actually in a dealership yesterday that had (2) RT's and (4) f3's and i looked at everyone of the drive belts to see where they were sitting. Everyone of them were right up against the flange. I put a credit card in between the gap and flange on each one and only (1) was set to where I was...

    Gas Mileage on 2010 RT

We have a 2010 RT and I use Star Tron every 3-4 tanks. Its hard to find ethanol free gas so that's why I use it the way I do. It counters the effects of ethanol and doesn't harm the engine at all. Doesn't help with fuel mileage either but I consistently get 32 MPG. Keep the engine in the correct...

    Another Issue.... digital voltmeter

I installed my digital voltmeter yesterday where my fuel gauge was that I got from ebay. Everything works fine but with the Spyder off it's only showing 12 volts. When running the gauge shows 13.2 volts and goes up to 13.4-13.5 while the rpm's are up. A new battery was just installed last month...

Parking Brake adjustment after new pads

I just installed new rear brake pads and removed the parking brake to remove the caliper bolts easier. I didn't have to squeeze the piston inward very much to get the new pads in. After installing the parking brake I pumped the brake pedal to seat the pads and then engaged the parking brake. It...

    RT belt tensioner

I was thinking about installing a belt tensioner to eliminate vibrations I have in my foot boards. I recently installed ISCI boards and since it has no rubber isolators you can really feel the vibrations. I know a lot of people use the smooth spyder but I wanted to see if anyone has used the...

    Recurring limp home mode

Update* Picked up spyder from dealer yesterday. Drove 65 miles home and it ran great. Seems to have a little more pick up and runs smoother. Start up is easier plus no stumble or hesitation when restarting hot. Belt was adjusted also. Only thing, belt is against rear pulley flange. Making a...

Belt tension question - One more time

Not sure if I would agree with the quote" there's no such thing as too loose on the belt" I had mine adjusted at the dealer and they said it didn't even register on the gauge at all. It ran perfect spec on the pulleys but had a lot of vibration in the pegs. And I'm sure the tension has no...

    Recurring limp home mode

Dealer called yesterday and said everything is ready to go. it will be Tuesday before I can pick it up but I am so ready. No problems with the install or updating everything. Had them look at the belt tension while there and was told it didn't even register on the scale. They tightened the belt...
