• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder RT VS Goldwing Trike?

That's a good point I forgot to include. To my knowledge only HD (besides BRP) makes a factory trike. The first dealer we looked sold Spyders and HD (if you can imagine that paradox). He specifically said HD received enough pressure from dealers and owners for a factory trike (in part due to the...

    Spyder RT VS Goldwing Trike?

I looked at a new Goldwing trike from a dealer in Arkansas. One thing that helped decide for me was that it'd be another $8k to get the Goldwing based on the price I knew I was getting my RT-S for and the price they quoted me on the Goldwing. It also wouldn't come with the SE5 tranny and single...

    Digital fuel guage

Here's the thread to learn how to disconnect: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?17899-Analogue-temp-and-fuel-gagues-disconnect Remember to turn your handlebars as far to the left or the right before trying to pull out the dash. It really is a very simple procedure. Just read the...

    XM in "glove box"

Our garage door opening sits in the liner as well. Even with the 107-deg temps, no ill effects.

Analogue temp and fuel gagues... disconnect

I like the idea of a barometer. Reminds me of the unit in the house growing up. It might serve a function to warn of impending rain or weather change for those of us with XM weather (or who don't want to look up at the clouds). As for the exhaust temperature gauge, do I put this directly onto...

Analogue temp and fuel gagues... disconnect

I just did this mod to our new 2012 RT-S and wanted to add a little tip to help out people that may be like me (mechanically disinclined). Removing the dash and wires is exactly as described although you don't NEED to remove the single wire to get the digital readout. Perhaps a fun benefit of...

Too Funny- Spyder 5 Mickey Fisher

Without exception, family and friends that we've told that we bought the Spyder have asked, "Do you guys wear helmets?" It's baffling to me as Missouri has a helmet law. Plus, anyone the knows us knows we'd wear helmet. People who see us on the beast have been overwhelming supportive and...

Buy audio package or scala rider g9 for 2012 rt

Since my wife and I are on the same Spyder we bought the Scala Teamset Pro. We're extremely happy with it. Getting the speakers aligned properly to your ears is everything. After all the negative stuff I've read at various forums, I was pleasantly surprised how good the intercom sound is between...

    Riding two up.

Well, I'm on an RT so this probably won't help too much, but, my wife and I have ridden 2-up since we got this. I've never had a time where she moved into my back when I was up front (same for me if she was in the saddle). We of course have the backrest and always press back into it when riding...

Throttle and Grip Position @ 55+ mph

Wonderful tips from the experts  Thanks for all the advice. I'll change my grip up a bit and try out the cruise control on some non-busy roads at first.

Throttle and Grip Position @ 55+ mph

I guess that's my problem. I haven't figured out how to grab another handful of throttle with completely letting go of it :sour: Any tips?

    Any thoughts for arthritis comfort

Thanks. I get it now. For some reason I was thinking it held the throttle into place. This makes much more sense. Very helpful. Thanks!

    Any thoughts for arthritis comfort

I think this may answer the question I have in the thread I just posted  So, forgive my ignorance, does it make it hard to steer without messing up the throttle assist? When you want to take back control, you just lift up on the assist?

Throttle and Grip Position @ 55+ mph

Well the misses and I have about 130 miles now on our new RT-S. It's amazing how quickly I've become much more comfortable handling it. I've got a question about grip and highway speeds though. So far, I've taken her up to 55 on our outer road and 65 on a quick highway trip (2 exits). I find...

"Budget" Garmin (or other) GPS recommendations?

Wow. Awesome. Will the 1450 give directions over Bluetooth? From Garmin's site, it doesn't look like it does. Under Specifications, it just says "internal speaker".

    Frunk Alignment

Maybe the price we pay for the sexiest color for the RT-S! Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone.
