• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil leak 2021 400 miles HELP

Take it to the dealer, that's why you pay the big bucks for a new vehicle, use the warranty rather than fight it. Let them figure it out.

Should I upgrade or should I keep it?

I've always heard that the two happiest days in a boater's life is when he buys a new boat, and then when he sells it. :)

Should I upgrade or should I keep it?

What will you get out of the new one that you don't get with the old one? Just looking something new and different? You've owned it for 10 years, maybe the new just finally wore off. Bottom line is it's your money.

New to spyder I have 2 questions

On Peggy's 2013 the manual recommends 13-15 psi for the fronts, but you're right about the rear. I was thinking of the car tires.

New to spyder I have 2 questions

Did you turn the key off after you used the kill button. If you left the key on, the battery will run down. I've done it by accident, so it does happen, which is why I rarely use the kill button. Check the air pressure in the tires, should be around 15-16 psi in the fronts, about 18-20 psi in...

    Red Dust front sprocket

JMO, but I think your dealer is blowing smoke. Belt sprockets/pulleys should not wear out for many thousands and thousands of miles. The belt may wear out, but the sprockets/pulleys should still be going strong. It isn't like chain and sprockets. And the sprockets/pulleys aren't failing from...

    Changing Coolant - what tools?

The service manual for the 2013 says to "Remove the drain plug from the radiator". Nothing about cutting any of the hose clamps.

Any F3(S) owners here using the BRP chopped rear fender kit?

Fender eliminators look good on a lot of bikes, but I'll have to say it doesn't enhance the Spyder's appearance IMO. But if you like it that's all that counts.

    Changing Coolant - what tools?

Not from personal experience mind you, but I have read that the drain plugs are known to fail when trying to remove them. Apparently they are screwed into an insert in the radiator and the insert comes out instead of the plug unscrewing. Some say to pull a hose rather than risk that happening...

    New tires for my Spyder

"The speedometer is still off by 2mph. Bike said 60 mph and GPS said 58 mph. This stays consistent throughout different speeds." That seems kind of odd. Usually they're off by a percentage, and consequently the difference increases as speed increases. Odd that yours stays at 2 MPH difference.

    Red Dust front sprocket

I believe it's recommended to replace the pulley bolt any time it is removed/loosened.

New 2020 Spyder looks like it was left in the rain. I guess I'm a sucker

What has the dealer said about this when you presented him with this information?

    Shoei Neotech 2

"Only" $618? LOL It says they can't ship the cheaper Neotech to the US, or rather it's not available from them in the US.

Brand new Spyder RT rider needs an answer!

To me it's Peggy's trike or Peggy's Spyder, it's got three wheels so it isn't a bike. And I feel since you're astraddle it like a bike or a horse, you ride it. You'd drive a Slingshot, but ride a Spyder.

    What's the recommended Belt Tension?

The axle bolt/nut is supposed to be torqued to 160 lb.ft.

Excited about becoming a Spyder owner!

And new tires. That was the first thing I did with Peggy's 2013 STS-S SM5. That is a pretty red.

    Shoei Neotech 2

I love Shoei helmets, bought the first modular they came out with back in the 80"s, I believe. But to me they've priced themselves out of my reach. Schuberth has done the same IMO. Although Schuberth does run their helmets on sale occasionally, I don't know that I've ever seen the Shoei modular...

Akrapovic vs RLS vs Stock Exhaust

"Opinions are always welcome/ expected ..." From the rest of the post, it would appear that you don't really feel that way. And the only opinions that are welcome are opinions that agree with your opinion. Threads would be very short if the only people who posted were the people that agree 100%...

Loading your Spyder up a steep ramp?

Does the Spyder hit the edge of the ramp, or just spin the wheel due to lack of traction because of weight transfer?

Where to buy a full face carbon fibre Helmet?

No bike shops in the area? There are myriad places online to buy helmets, but unless you're sure of your size and how the helmet fits your head, it's kind of a crap shoot. Does he want to replace his helmet with the same brand? If it isn't too old, new model helmets in the same brand may fit...
