• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'M NOT A GUN OWNER BUT THESE ARE NICE

    2017 can am Spyder RTL

If you want a receiver hitch you need to build it yourself or have it done. The factory style hitch bolts to the swing arm and is unsprung so it gives the trailer cargo a pretty violent ride. Put sensitive items behind the trailer axle and pad them if you can. If you want a proper frame mounted...

    Shipping a Spyder

I used motorcycleshippers.com for a couple wings and was very pleased.

    One Wheel Pull Behind Trailer

Any trailer you tow using the standard spyder hitch will beat the crap out of the trailer contents. The unigo type with the wheel farther back will be worse. It's to bad a proper hitch isn't available for all the spyders. I designed and built one but never used it because I went back to a wing.

I've only seen pictures. Probably looks really good in person.

    Ninja 900 trike

I knew of a guy in the Salem Oregon area that built a couple nice reverse trikes using FJR1300 Yamaha's. Scary fast. 145hp and not much weight.

    Securing Nolen helmet

I use a light weight cable lock and run it through the chin bar on both helmets, through one sleeve on each jacket and then through the passenger grab handles. Put the helmets on the seat and the jackets on top of them. Been doing it this way for years. at night everything goes in the room.

    Sena 20

I had all the same issues. Did everything the tech support folks told me to do. They gave up and had me return them for warranty. Got new ones yesterday so now I start over. Will post up with results.

How to move rear tire over in an enclosed trailer

Proper application of explosives ought to get it done:thumbup:

How many of us are still riding two wheel motorcyles?

Had a wing before the spyder and now have a wing after the spyder. The spyder is a fine machine but I just couldn't get two wheels out of my head. Who knows, I may try three wheels again before they throw dirt in my face.

    Custom Seats

I'm headed to Russell on Wed. to get my 6th Day Long seat built. This one is on a wing but the last one was a Spyder. The seat and the hand brake were the best farkles I did. I've tried all kinds of seats over many years and IMHO if you only want to spend your money once, go with Russell.

    AIR INTAKE VS EXHAUST.....................

Probably the best is as the system was engineered from the factory. Without an accurate dyno with a qualified operator it's all speculation. Most aftermarket stuff is designed to empty your wallet and and make your butt dyno think that noise is HP.

    Rear wheel valve stem access

I've used JB weld for lots of things but I wouldn't use it in an application that could potentially cause harm to myself or others. Sudden deflation of the rear tire could be ugly. I would TIG weld the hole and pressure test it and use the bondo for cosmetic finish. To each their own.

    Sell/ Trade RT-s

The farkles won't get you much on a trade or selling outright. My 15 RTL was full of high end goodies and I waited 9 months to get 19k for it. If You sell the farkles first you will probably net closer to your goal.

    Cooler rack for 622

This is true. The violent bouncing from the swing arm damaged my trailer and broke all the bottles in the cooler. I built a custom frame mount hitch to solve the problem but never used it before selling the spyder and returned to two wheels It's now in the steel pile behind the shop.

    they couldn't keep up

I have to agree. I owned the FJR and the Spyder at the same time and found that I couldn't carry the corner speeds on the spyder that the FJR did with ease. The spyder is a good machine and before you folks get your panties in a twistI tried all the recomended riding styles, tire pressures, new...

    More tire-ing commentary....

Opinions are like belly buttons and we all have one. I have lots of education and experience in motor racing and many times I've set pressures where I'm sure based on education they will work the best but the driver doesn't like the feel so the pressure gets changed. The tires seem to work just...

    Has anyone towed?

I pulled A Bushtec turbo+2 for 14k and the trailer was fine. The problem is the way the hitch is mounted on the RT. Being bolted directly to the wheel , all the motion from the swingarm goes into the trailer and ended up breaking the tongue mounts on the Bushtec. I fabricated a custom frame...

    Reuben Run RTE #6

Another bump. If you haven't checked out the riding in central Oregon this would be a good time to do it. The eclipse will be done and the crowds gone so the roads will be clear. This is a fun event with great folks and food. All are welcome.
