• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    A firearms question

I carried one for a number of years but being a southpaw the safety was a pain. I switched to a p238 Sig with the ambi safety. The Smith always functioned well as does the Sig but it better for 700.00 bucks

    feeling unstable

No reason to trash the machine. I'm the one that bought it with both eyes open. I have said that if I had rented one for a weekend I probably would not have bought it but that's past history. There are a few things that I have issues with but I'm not the engineer. I would like to see a hand...

    feeling unstable

A lot of good ideas from experienced folks. I tried all the above and gave it 15k but my copilot and I never felt comfortable on the tricycle . We returned to a wing and are comfy again. Spyder had a lot of good features but it's not the magic bullet for everybody so if it isn't working for you...

    Love the semi automatic transmission

The sissy shift trans is one of the few things I miss from the spider. If I could afford a new wing it would be the DCT version. That would be the best of both worlds.

    Dealer Won't Install Car Tires

I've run car tires on two wings and an FJR1300. They work great on the Wing and last around 20k. On the Yamaha it didn't feel as good. To the best of my knowledge there have been no tire related failures

    Truck/trailer winch wiring question.

A 2500 lb. Winch will pull at least 50 amps so #10 wire would be the minimum. I don't think that circuit is designed for that kind of load. Better to mount a battery in the trailer and use the charge circuit for it's intended purpose.

Migration from two-wheel motorcycle to spyder

I flunked Similar story. Going on 70 and been on two wheels since the 60's. Bought a 15 rtl and spent two seasons and 15k miles trying to make friends with it. My wife never got comfortable even with arm rests and a RDL seat and I didn't like the handling . Some here drank the koolaid and it...

Anyone sold their Spyder and regretted it

The main thing I miss is the sissy shift transmission. My wife never got comfortable even with the RDL and arm rests. We both prefer the ride and handling on the Wing. The spider is a good machine but not the nirvana some here profess. YMMV.

    Unstable ride feeling........

Gotta jump in here. I spent a lot of money and time trying to make the 2015 RTL do what I thought it should. Aligned it myself and helped a lot. Laser aligned and helped a little more. Sway bar helped a little. Tried tire pressures all over the map which changed the feel but never made it good...

    gun enthusiast

I just bought the Sig P238 in .380. Very nice little gun and accurate for a pocket pistol. Take down and cleaning is very simple. Fits nicely in the pocket and for 1911 fans it feels just right.

    RT Seat Comfy or No?

I hated the stock seat after a couple hours. Russell is the answer. I'm on my seventh one.

    What's your secret recipe?

I gave the 15RTL 15,000 miles and never made friends with it so re-homed it to someone else and went back to two wheels. We never got comfortable with the ride or the handling. Went through laser alignment, shock adj.,new tires on both ends, RDL seat and played with air pressure up and down the...

I'm on RDL number 7. I've done it both ways with great results.

    GW vs Spyder

we went from a 03 wing to a15 RTL. Spent 15k miles and a lot of money trying to like it but no joy so now we have a 06 wing and life is good. The spyder has a lot of good features but I never felt comfortable on it and compared to the wing the ride was way to harsh and I need to lean in the...

Long time mc rider 72 with passenger +10 years on me.

Little different opinion here. We went to the spyder thinking it was the answer but my bride never could get comfortable. She always felt she was getting pitched off the side. I added armrests and a RDL seat but still no joy. After 15k miles on the RTL we sold it and went back to a wing. I'm...

    My new seat

I heard about that motel so I stay at the Best Western in Redding. It's only a few minutes to Russell. I'm on my 7th RDL and 5 of them have been ride in appointments. IMHO there is none better.

    30 psi in frt tires

This horse has been dead for some time now. It doesn't matter if your an educated pro or a seat of the pants type it doesn't make anybody's opinion better or worse than the next or right or wrong. Use what makes you warm and fuzzy and ride more and stress less. I personally tried pressures all...
