• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Outlaw laser alignment

All you can adjust on the spyder is the toe in and incorrect toe settings won't cause a pull. In correct camber or caster settings will cause a pull but are not adjustable on the spyder. A bad tire can also cause a pull. If you suspect that just swap the tires and see if it changes.

    Snowblower conversion question.

Don't forget to blend your own oil and set the tire pressure to 18. I run mine at 15 on the left cause my driveway is circular so it handles better at hot rod speeds.:2thumbs::roflblack:

    Golf clubs?

Keep in mind the hitch is attached to the rear wheel so any and all movement goes straight into the cargo and any vertical support also needs to attach to the swing arm. Anything attached to the swing arm increases unsprung weight making the rear shock work overtime.

New Here and Looking to Buy 2019 RT Limited

If you can, rent one for a few days and run the hell out of it to make sure before you drop the big bucks. I can't really say bad things about my ownership but if I had been able to rent first I probably would not have purchased. Good machine but for some just not the magic bullet

What about what you don't you like about the Spyder?

It's a good thing that there is a seat for every butt. I drank the koolaid and bought the RTL. Pounded lots of money into it to create comfort and handling . Took classes and gave it every opportunity to win our respect but in the end after 15k miles it just didn't measure up so now it lives in...

I just wanna buy ONE oil

Only some automotive oils have friction modifiers. If it doesn't say energy conserving in the api circle it's fine. Generally any thing 40w and up is no problem.

I just wanna buy ONE oil

I use Delo 400 15-40 in everything except the 17 F150 and it gets whatever they use at the dealer quick line. That's Spyder, wing, tractor, side by side, 55 F100 and various lawn devices

Question for former or current Goldwing owners who have a Spyder

Had a 03 wing, sold it and bought a 15 RTL. Rode the RTL for 15k miles and never made friends with it so went back to a 06 wing. For us the wing is more comfortable and has way less wind buffeting.

Migrating From 2 Wheels To 3 Wheels

I wish I had the same experience cause it would have saved me a ton of money in farkles and depreciation. I gave it 15k miles but in the end it just wasn't meant to be. Ride you ride and enjoy it 2 or 3 wheels

    Passenger bouncing and back pain

My wife is WAY more comfortable on the wing than she was on the RT. Both have RDL seats. She has had severe back pain after an accident while riding her own bike ten years ago. I would recommend renting the spyder and put a few hundred or miles on it before buying. If I could have rented first...

Thinking about spare fuel container location

When I have carried spare gas it has been on the top rack of the Bushtec trailer. I wasn't sure if there would be gas at Denio Junction on hwy 140 in Oregon. Didn't need it so I left the can at a station for somebody else.

How do you reply when asked about the Spyder?

When I had the RT , I told folks that I thought I was to the point I needed to give up two wheels. I was wrong. The spyder is fine for what it is but for me two wheels is still where it's at. Maybe I'm not old enough yet:roflblack:

    Thinking of making a trade

That was a major reason we went back to the wing. My bride never could get comfy and relax on the RT . After 15k and lots of money we threw in the towel.

Platform type trailer hitch on a Spyder

Had a computer issue that trashed the pictures. On the RT there are two unused threaded holes in the frame under the rear seat. I found them when I took the rear section off. I used those for the vertical support and I used the passenger footboard mounts for the forward attachment. I know lots...

Platform type trailer hitch on a Spyder

It would have been very serious if the tongue on my trailer had come off. The violent shaking from the hitch had broken the bolts which were grade 8. How many cars or trucks have the hitch mounted to the rear axle ??. Anything that adds to unsprung weight is not good.

Platform type trailer hitch on a Spyder

I think the engineers took the easy way out. I built a frame mounted hitch for mine that worked great. I took it off when I sold it.

Platform type trailer hitch on a Spyder

:agree: All movement of the rear tire is transmitted directly to the hitch even if you don't feel it. Mine shook bad enough to break the tongue on a Bushtec trailer.

    Was a Spyder a Mistake?

It was a mistake for me. It only left me stranded once but it was in the middle of Wy. on a reservation about 400 miles from help. I tried all the good stuff but never could make it handle with any confidence. After 15,000 miles I threw in the towel and went back to two wheels. When I can't hold...

Trying to find a seat for our 13 rt limited

I'm on my 8th Russell. The one they built for the RT was just what you asked for including thinning the back rest. If the rest of the Spyder was as good as the seat I might still have it.
