• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    28k miles service

Thanks. Good to know. Question: can I just lay on the garage floor beneath the left saddlebag, look up and see this pre-canister thingy above me (to see whether it's serviceable or whether I have to buy a replacement for it)? Or do I have to take off saddlebag or some other tupperware first...

    28k miles service

Hello BikerChris, but is the pre-canister an evap filter? Or is the evap filter yet an additional part that has to be inspected and/or replaced?

JayBros, I too earned the right to display the EGA as you do. Some of the "earning" was in engineer school at CourtHouse Bay, near you. Semper Fi, Patrick

    28k miles service

Hello TrikerMutha, I'm at the dread 28k point with my 2014 RT and am determined to do my own maintenance for this milestone. First question is "what in the world is a pre-canister?" Is it some sort of filter? Or one of those gas tank fume traps? When I get to it, how do I know whether it...

Will the newer RT's still accept the '14 luggage?

Peter, Thanks for the info. Not what I wanted to hear, but what I suspected. What about trunk? I have a 2-bag insert for my RT that works quite well for that deep RT trunk. Is the F3 trunk shaped like the RT's? Patrick H

Will the newer RT's still accept the '14 luggage?

F3 Limited Luggage I started this thread because the Las Vegas location where I may be renting this summer rents an RT, and since I ride a 2014 RT I wondered whether my luggage (frunk, saddle bags, trunk) would fit a more recent model. I've gotten lots of good info for which I'm quite...

    No thread prefix option

BINGO! There's the answer. Thanks. Before I was looking at the page that was displayed when I clicked the FORUM tab at the top of the page. WHen I clicked on one of the discussions below it, the RED Post New Thread loomed up bright and unmistakable. Thanks again. Patrick

    No thread prefix option

Hello Peter, Perhaps you can help me. Another member told me about the RED "Post New Thread" button you described; however, I can't find it on my version. I've tried using Chrome and Firefox both, w/o success. Regards, Patrick

Will the newer RT's still accept the '14 luggage?

I have a 2014 RT with the frunk suitcase/rollerboard that came with it. I am going to rent a Spyder to ride in the west for a week and want to know whether the newer RT's will still accept the same RT luggage as I have with my 2014? I haven't paid attention to what the latest RT's look like, but...

Hello LLC, I'm getting ready to replace my Cruiser Medium and am considering the Cruiser R, like you have. I'm riding an RT and would like to hear your thoughts on the size of the Cruiser R. Is it too big? Or should I like it? Regards, Patrick H

    Power Port

Power Port amperage Hello Billybovine, Since you obviously know about the wiring and power on the Spyder, I have a question about the amperage of the power port. I have 2 in my trunk (think the dealer installed an extra one using the existing wiring I'd read about in another post, when he...

Gold Wing Rider thinking about a Can Am Spyder for next bike

From 2 Wings to a '14 Spyder RT LTD I rode a GL1200 and a GL1800. Switched to the Spyder 2 1/2 years ago and I'm glad I did. Overall I'd say, as to the ride, you'll never regret the swap in all riding at less than 45mph. At highway cruise, I miss the wing. The wing is more pleasant fast...

You're welcome. Yes, there's a deck above, but no it doesn't slow down rainwater a bit. That ugly tarp rig will protect against heavy storming. Patrick
