• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Oil change diy

Shawn does all of the service on my RTS. I know just barely enough to be dangerous, and with Shawn being local, well, they get my business. The last thing I want to do is accidentally destroy my Spyder trying to save a few bucks. -Fratz

    First service sticker shock!

Pro Calibre in Vancouver is really good, but expect to pay OVER $400 for your 1st service. I did, even after my spyder club discount... They're not cheap, but they are good. If I had to pick one of the two, that's what I would choose. -Fratz

    Vancouver, WA area riders

Hi! There's quite a few of us around here. Did you know there is a Spyder Riders chapter in the Portland/Vancouver area? We have at least a couple of rides each month, with a lot of other impromptu rides as well. http://columbiariverchapter.com/ I have to work most days, but there are many...

    CQ CQ Hello CQ

FYI, I removed my antenna from the "CB" antenna hole. It was flexing the plastics too much, and I didn't want it to break off. Instead, I just mounted a bracket on the side of the trunk lid. Same Comet antenna and NMO mount as before. Here's a link to a set of pictures, and a link to the...

    How does it work ?

If you figure this out, let everyone know! It's not just a harness, it is integrated into the CB radio electronics, so you can change channels, etc.. from the handlebar controls. The PTT switch is connected to the CAN BUS, and is pretty much useless outside of the BRP CB, from what I can tell...

    I pod connector

I've had nothing but grief from my ipod connector (2015 RTS) as well. They've replaced the dongle cable, but still does not work. I finally gave up and have it connected via bluetooth to my helmet. I've tried three various ipods, as well as my iphone 6 with the apple 30pin -> lightening...

Baja Ron anti-sway bar causes chatty Nanny

The nanny cuts back on the "throttle" to slow things down. Speed? It's not based on speed, it's based on what the Spyder is doing. I know that it can be triggered by; 1) rear wheel slipping, like trying to start from a stop when the rear tire is on the slick white cross-walk line. 2) If a...

Baja Ron anti-sway bar causes chatty Nanny

Great conversation -- I thought that it might get some attention, and is why I put my disclaimer up front :chat: The reason that I think that I'm getting more attention from the nanny is that I'm faster in the twisties than before. It's just a lot more solid on the road, and I'm not second...

Baja Ron anti-sway bar causes chatty Nanny

Lest anyone think this is a complaint, it is most definitely NOT! The Baja Ron anti-sway bar is awesome! Before my anti-sway bar was installed, my corner speeds were mostly limited by what I felt was comfortable. Nanny was quiet, almost non-existent. After my Baja Ron anti-sway bar was...

Trouble filling the tank and poor gage

    GPS Install

For what it's worth, I mounted my Zumo 660 between the handlebars, by replacing one of the bolts with a RAM ball. For power, I cut a small notch in the left-side speaker grill, and then it was easy to run the wires up to the front. (I put a PDM-60 in there, but you could wire it most anywhere)...

    Custom license plates

I put my amateur radio call sign on mine. In Oregon, it's cheap, just $10, instead of the outrageous custom plate fees. Fratz - K9BEA

    tire pressure consensus

+1000 on the FOBO. Mine have already paid for themselves. I started out on a little ride a couple of days, and all the sudden in my headset I hear this blaring alarm. Quickly pull over, and take a look at my phone to see what's going on, and find that my left front tire is down to just under...
