• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder Lovers Chapter of OHIO

I'm here. I live in Silver Lake by Stow & Cuyahoga Falls and my family still lives in Berea and Parma. That Mexican restaurant on 82 is a customer of mine so we are in your neck of the woods frequently. There are at least 3 more of us over here in my area. You're not alone. Maybe we can...

    New Owner

Welcome, I wasn't sure I was ready to give up my goldwing but let me tell you something. Making this purchase has been the best thing, I should have done it years ago when I began looking at the bikes. I have more miles in the last month on my spyder then all year on my wing. Its terrific...

    Seat Dilemma

My wife complains of the lack of passenger space since we switched from our goldwing to the 60 RTL. We have a comfort seat and I too seem to slid and have some discomfort after an hour or two. I will probably go to a local upholstery guy to have the seat redone rather than buy a cookie cutter...

    Stopping distance-close call

I read plenty of threads that talk about the close calls and such but haven't seen a thread talking about the stopping capability of our machines. That was my primary reason for this thread. I don't believe the stopping distance for my wing was nearly as good but I never had a close call like...

    Stopping distance-close call

This morning while riding to work, I came upon a line of traffic stopped at a light in the straight lane. I was traveling in the turning lane when out of nowhere someone decided it was ok to let a driver out of a starbucks. This person didn't see me at all based on the expression on her face...

    Riding in the rain

When I rode my gold wing, I wouldn't avoid the rainy weather but it wasn't enjoyable to ride in the rain on my wing. Since I've purchased my spyder, I've put more miles on it in less than a month then I put on my wing all season. It is everything I hoped it would be so far and more. I've been...

    2015 1330 "whine"

The whine on my goldwing was the gears on the alternator. Something about how they are cut makes them whine. I don't know for sure but this type of construction may be the problem on these bikes as well. I'm not an expert by any means, so take it for what it's worth. Chris

    Ohio spyder riders

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I am interested in starting a riding group or spyder club for us Ohio spyder riders. I would like to know who would be interested in something like this. I live in Silver Lake between Cleveland & Akron and I recently traded my goldwing for a...

Spyder Insurance Cost VS 2 Wheeled Bike Insurance Cost

I to recommend Dairyland. I had my goldwing insured through Erie and the wing was almost $600. My 16 RTL is $300 with good limits and roadside. Chris

    Finally did it!

After a couple of years looking, researching and negotiating, I finally took the plunge. I picked up my 2016 RT limited yesterday. I must say the information on this forum is great, almost too great though. If someone reads this forum only they may think the spyders are unreliable and prone...

    things we dont do anymore

The things I remember besides the neighborhood hide & seek games were playing war or cowboys & indians with our toy guns in the neighborhood. One persons house would be the indians and the others would be cowboys and we'd "shot" each other all day. I think once when I was a teen ager that we...

    RT TEST RIDE TODAY

I also wonder about the power of the 1330 with the semi auto trans. I wonder if it would have a better response if I were controlling the clutch. The manual trans models are a good bit less expensive but I will stick with the semi auto. The power really doesn't seem to compare to my goldwing...

test ride on a 2014 rt spyder

I too am switching from my goldwing to a spyder. You must be open minded when test riding your spyder especially if you're looking at an SE6 model. There is little similar with riding 2 wheels and thr rts se6. No clutch lever, no brake lever. One pedal for all braking and on and on. My Wife...
