• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Initial Maintenance and Work

Thanks for the complement. Regarding connectors. Hook the SAE connector up to use the battery tender. You will need a second pigtail connector for heated clothing, connect the wires to suit. The SAE connector I used thanks to a recommendation on this forum, fits in the round plug under the...

2022 Work Period - My Spyder

Finished the cleaning detailing of the Spyder. Looks good and shiny. Broke one bolt that I will be removing, drill and easy out. Not in a critical spot so it's on the list. The lock tite product that BRP uses is quite good except when removing bolts and such. Have come to the realization...

2022 Work Period - My Spyder

Been giving the Spyder the once in a decade clean/detailing while I'm waiting for parts for a 1200 GW engine put back together work period. Took the front trunk off and apart. Had bugs where there should not have been any. New head lamps, had one out - replaced both. Oil/filter change...

    States ridden map and reality

Did a cross Canada trip, some 16500 Kms this past June/July/August. My friend sent me a link to a great ride around the US for our next epic trip. Here's the link:https://flytrippers.com/perfect-itinerary-for-an-epic-usa-roadtrip-all-48-states-at-once/. Seems like a very nice ride, and as you...

Is there any other way of disengaging cruise control?

Read up on the cruise for my '85 Gold Wing Limited Edition. Honda mentions 18 ways to cancel the cruise. Do like rolling the throttle forward. I have to mention that the Spyder cruise control is one of the best out there for uphill/downhill consistency. Most cars aren't as smooth.

2022 Work Period - My Spyder

Thanks for the wishes. It was a great trip, now to collect my thoughts on it and post a trip report of sorts. Went back to the dealer to get some pictures of the '22 S2S. Nice colour scheme. Looked at the '22 RT Limited - silver, gloss black accent. The sales person doesn't like the gloss...

    Suspension

Thanks again for the comments. Have the BUDS software. What sensors are you alluding to? Will look at manual. Keeping the trailer hitch on. Will look into what you are mentioning about the shocks. Always something to learn. Cheers

    Suspension

Thanks PMK. Compromise it is and will always be, but it is fun to go through the process. Another of my considerations is that the platform/machine should do more work than I, ergo, the quest is on for the holy grail.

    Suspension

Have been reading other suspension threads and felt the need to theorize again. Just a few more thoughts on this issue. Rode snowmobiles a lot and my favourite(s) were always two up machines even though most of my riding was solo. Great ride quality, hauled lots of gear for trips. Used to...

2022 Work Period - My Spyder

Post trip maintenance started. Hit a couple of decent road bumps in Alberta, the ones where the asphalt has gotten so hot that the trucks/cars force the asphalt up into a bump. Two back to back on the right front wheel, interesting experience - had a vibration at approximately 85 KPH after...

    Cornering Nightmare - Update

Circ - following your interesting thread. Riding profile and a person's performance requirements differ greatly between riders. Just returned from a 17,000 Km cross Canada trip, two up towing an N-Line trailer. Bought our 2014 Spyder RTL in Mar 2021, and the upgrade to date is the suspension...

    Monster Fuel Injection ECU enhancement

I contacted Monster about the MyGenius and was informed that it will not work on my 2014 RTL.

Will do, not going to be up to your standard. I've been lax on taking pictures.

    Solo to Alaska

Glad you made it home. Been a great read. Like your thoughts on regular versus premium fuel. As bigbadbrucie mentions, the Air Canada flight that landed at Gimli is now called the Gimli Glider. I spoke with a Fedex pilot and asked if it was part of his simulator training, he informed me that...

Will Reducing unsprung front wheel weight reduce handlebar vibrations?

Going to follow. Look forward to how you resolve the issue.

    Solo to Alaska

Great trip report. Your pictures bring back memeories of our trip in 2019. I'll do the Canadian thing and apologize for the gas prices:2thumbs: We've made it to Ottawa, Spyder operating well, and will be conitinuing east on Monday. Been two weeks now. Safe travels.

What’s your average MPG using what Octane Fuel?

On a trip across Canada 2 up towing a trailer. Using 91 or 87 depending, sometimes no 91 available. Not keeping an accurate account, but seem to be averaging 16 Km per litre regardless. Keep track of the gas prices in Victoria BC. If 91 octane is the same or less price than 87 octane in...

    Solo to Alaska

Greta trip report. Keep the updates coming. I'm putting my trip on the Classic GW forum. This is where I have put my trips so far. Will post forum site page for the inmates. Made it across without a problem except that there was a lot of rain and wind. Supposed to get better this week...
