• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question for the RT owners - what's a mint '19 RTL worth?

I have a 2014 RTL and am very happy with it. Was low mileage, 9000 Kms in some 6 years or so. Oil changes are the big issue, hadn't had its second oil change. Tried a 2018 F3 touring, the Mrs liked it and would tour on it. Found the 2014 through the friend network, the Mrs preferred the...

    Pedal Box or Pedal Commander?

2022 RT - under warranty. Adding items such as this at this time may not be a good thing. OEMs are getting gun shy with regards to warranties and this add on changes its factory design. Not to say not to do it, but I'd wait until the warranty is over. May want to look into the Monster ECU...

What is a good way of Talking To my Passenger - helmets or add-ons?

I vote for Sena; however, any bluetooth unit(s) will work for you, even the less than $100.00 units. The benefit with Sena is that a lot of riders use them and if you get with person or persons with the Sena unit(s) you can hook into them as well. The SHM10R is a low profile unit and works...

Your experience/thoughts on Spyder vs Other Trikes?

I'd do a suspension upgrade, sway bar and shocks.

Your experience/thoughts on Spyder vs Other Trikes?

Have a 2014 Spyder RTL. Tested the RTL and F3 with the MRS, mostly ride two up on the Spyder. Both were good but the Mrs preferred the RTL, hence it is in the garage. The Spyder is designed as a three wheeler, not a new concept, see my avatar - '60/'70 vintage. Designed to tow up to 400...

Is it okay to mount a lot of LEDs on the side plug?

Wiring issues. Best practice is to determine a location for an accessory fuse block that is powered through an automotive relay so that the power is switched on/off with the key. You will need a 12 VDC supply and ground taken from the battery. This minimizes the number of wires on the...

    Can-Am all-electric Motorcycles grand reveal

Looked into powering a house off the grid with solar, wind and generator supplemental power. Need all three to be effective and efficient, and to enjoy our daily requirements (no one wants to give anything up). This report noticed that the green, renewable energy sector was starting to...

What I've learned about Loctite and Threadlockers

The yellow Loctite from the factory is nasty. If removing a bolt, and you stop part way it binds the bolt - heat. If you start again 50/50 chance of it coming free. Found that letting the bolt cool then start again. Have broken a couple. if removing a bolt, don't stop and start. Blue...

    Wisecracks about Spyder

17,000 Km trip this past summer across Canada and back. The Spyder was a great conversation piece, women especially. Husbands and partners warmed up to it after we started to talk about it and why we have one. No negative comments during the trip.

Anyone tried an AGM battery alternative? Any info?

Replaced the battery in my '85 Honda Gold Wing Limited Edition FI model with a LifePo4 lithium ion battery from Alberta Lithium. My 2014 Spyder RTL uses the same AGM battery as my Gold Wing. Cost was $30.00 more than another AGM. Total in was $210.00 to the door. Need a different charger...

Will upgraded shocks help out with toe in due to a heavy load?

PMK may chime in here as well after my post. The Spyder are tuned for the average rider say some 200 pounds, height say 6'. This all comes into the calculations of centre of gravity and the likes. The OEM suspension suits a generic rider and performance profile. There are a few forum threads...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

No name, just choice. Question is always which are we riding, or which am I going to ride - Spyder or Gold Wing?

    HowTo: Paint your parts

Very nice work. Paint can or spray gun? BRP is not known to divulge its paint codes. is the paint you used the same code as BRP or a close facsimile? Repainted my ex 1995 1500 GW - Pearl Glacier White including blue accent plastic, during C-19 as well as my '85 Limited Edition Gold Wing -...

First "Long" ride upcoming - Las Vegas to Reno

We went on a 17,000 Km road trip across Canada using our Spyder this year, almost two months on the road. Had a sheepskin, and the memory foam cushions along to change the seating. Got to Nova Scotia, went to a craft show and a fellow was selling sheepskins. Discussed the differences between...

Original 8 years old battery dead! Will this one work?

The Spyder battery is the same as that used in my '85 1200 Gold Wing. Have just installed a lithium-ion LifePo4 battery from Alberta Lithium in my 1200 - still have a good spare Yuasa as backup, company is in your neck of the woods. $20.00 more than a Yuasa battery. Look them up on line, give...

    Front shocks/spring adjuster benefits?

What you want to achieve is the million dollar question. Most will accept the Spyder suspension setup as it comes from the factory and adjust their riding styles and requirements to suit. Others will do the least expensive mods such as a beefier sway bar and such. Others will do this and...
