• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Code P0352?

Sounds similar to the code I had a few years ago. It turned out to be a bad ECM which wasn't sending power to the coil. It was only running on one cylinder....I wouldn't ride it like that.

oil light on , black shards of metal came out of the engine drain hole

You might be able to unbolt the hose from the engine then unscrew it from the tank without disturbing the clamp.

    Master cylinder heat shield/deflector

ONLY the '08-09 models had this heat shield installed. Certain (but not all) newer models including the ST have a deflector welded onto the exhaust pipe in front of the master cylinder.

    Master cylinder heat shield/deflector

Looking in the parts catalogue all '08-09 Spyders had a heat shield bolted onto the front of the master cylinder. This should be an easy retrofit on newer models having overheating problems in the master cylinder area. It's the RH Deflector #27, p/n 707600580

Your float could be leaking if it's a brass one.....take it off and shake it you'll hear gas sloshing inside. ;)

    BONE Head move

Yes normally it's no problem using a C clamp but in this case with the parking brake integrated into the caliper means the actuator shaft is threaded into the piston. That shaft pushes the piston out when the parking brake is applied. You have to make sure it's rotated back into the retracted...

    BONE Head move

That sounds quite possible as well.

    BONE Head move

Ok I'm not 100% sure since I haven't got a service manual but from looking at the parts fiche you may have to remove the bellcrank #7 in the diagram. Then the shaft that you need to turn to retract the piston will be accesible. (or like Spyderanne says maybe turn the key on to release??)
  20. S

    BONE Head move

You can't just force the piston back because of the parking brake actuator shaft which is threaded into the piston. This shaft must be rotated to retract the piston.
