• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ALL OWNERS OF ALL SPYDER MODELS NEED TO CHECK THE CAPS ON YOUR BRAKE RESERVOIR

They can be hard to see if you don't push on them like I did with the one on the left.....and here's the vent opening on my Spyder's clutch cap. There are two of them, one on each side. I removed the cap and the diaphragm has two small dimples...I imagine those are the vents but a bit too small...

ALL OWNERS OF ALL SPYDER MODELS NEED TO CHECK THE CAPS ON YOUR BRAKE RESERVOIR

Take a look at your Dorman replacement and tell me if it's similar to these diaphragms which happen to have precision slits cut into them. The left is Chrysler and the one on the right is from a Ford:

ALL OWNERS OF ALL SPYDER MODELS NEED TO CHECK THE CAPS ON YOUR BRAKE RESERVOIR

Sorry you're wrong. Brake systems need to be vented to equalize atmospheric pressure. You're right about moisture being bad for the system though and that's why your fluid should be changed periodically.

ALL OWNERS OF ALL SPYDER MODELS NEED TO CHECK THE CAPS ON YOUR BRAKE RESERVOIR

:agree: The slits are intentional and necessary for venting. Plenty of threads about this a few years ago. There are also venting grooves molded into the caps....orient the grooves in the caps rearward to minimize leakage. Here's an older post...

    OH YA! Another one

Mythbusted! It's been widely accepted as fact that the Kenda was a 2 ply tire.....it's a 3 ply! I never bothered checking till today. :opps:

    OH YA! Another one

24 is still too much....you need to go lower than that to make a difference.

What pressures were you running at?
  9. S

    OH YA! Another one

I was running recommended pressures for the first few thousand miles and noticed the center wearing more than the edges early on. The tire would also skip or bounce over cracks in the road surface under hard acceleration and the vss would activate occasionally, causing the engine to sputter...

Here's some basic gauge cluster troubleshooting from the owners manual:

    Spyder or 1980s Hyundai

If it's #5 in the pic then that would be the vss light(vehicle stability system). Normally that would only light up under low traction conditions like wheel spin, fishtailing etc.

What is Elio cooking up now??

Check this out: http://www.nissan.ca/en/cars/micra If they can sell a Nissan Micra here in Canada for $9998 then I'm sure $6800 is do-able for something that weighs half as much, has three less doors, one less wheel, two fewer seats and half as much horsepower. I really don't know if it's a...

DPS (Power Steering) and Radio Cutting out...

Wide open throttle turns off fuel and ignition in case of flooded engine. In this case you can check battery voltage while cranking.
