• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any pictures of Bumpskid LED installed with DOUBLE VISION DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS.

I think they add safety to your Ryde. Those LED's on the bumpskid cut through fog like no ones business! You see this line of light coming at you before you see the headlights. I also went to local car parts place and got a 12" strip to tie in on the underside of the bumpskid (mine had a...

Transmission Control Module (TCM) Location & Shielding GS/RS

As you all know I have been going crazy and spending crazy amounts of money trying to fix my GS's transmission getting stuck in a gear and going into neutral. REVIEW: 1. Gets stuck in any gear or shifts into neutral 2. No response from paddle 3. NO CODES 4. New gearbox Position sensor &...

Age of riders buying a Ryker

I'm 56 and the wife is 57. We have a 2016 RTS and a 2008GS. I'm getting a Ryker. The GS is going to my daughter, who will be taking the class and getting practice this spring. Three Spyder/Ryker family soon! Steve

Find issues with my 2011 RT

Sounds like the belt vibration maybe? Mine vibrated at two specific speeds, same as yours. Two vibration speeds = belt (IMO). I bought the belt dampener from a sponsor on this site. Install was very easy. No vibration now.

    Brown dust on rear tire

I saw similar. I think the pulley bolt is $12 or so; pulley is decent price at cheapcycleparts.com. Mine (bolt) came with the yellow locktite already on it. I added blue. Some threads were getting wonky, and the bolt came out with little effort. Probably a good idea to replace regardless...

    Locked in gear

I'm getting more sure that my problem is also mechanical now. Replaced all electronics, still will just randomly stay in a gear and not shift. Actuator moves solidly. I was kinda hoping his symptoms were similar, but alas they are not. I did catch the RPM's jump during a shift without the...

Weird question: Convert an SE5 into a manual shift? A tale of woe...

Well I wish! Recent hip replacement $$ blew the new bike fund! Was looking to trade in for an F3 base model. However something new did happen that I caught... Pulled off the hall effects at rear checking gaps, and found bits of metal stuck to it (magnetic and all), cleaned off. Original gaps...

Weird question: Convert an SE5 into a manual shift? A tale of woe...

No shortcuts installing paddle shifter. Sprayed connector with contact cleaner. Can hear the nice clicks. Whatever is happening is ignoring the paddle shifter input for some reason.

Weird question: Convert an SE5 into a manual shift? A tale of woe...

Hi all! As you eat your turkey I have weird things for you to mull over :) I am at my wits end trying to figure out why my 2008GS 998cc SE5 sticks in gear (any) and sometimes shifts into neutral when going from 2nd to 3rd. The clutch feels fine, pulls great, easily does a burnout. When...

    Gearbox position sensor malfunction

Well that might explain some things! Guess I better check for myself rather than my local tech :)

    Gearbox position sensor malfunction

I would disagree. The GBPS is simply a potentiometer. Any dirt or moisture will give false readings. I believe the same part is on both 998 and 1330. A pot is a mechanical device that changes resistance. I wouldn't believe anything can interfere - magnets, RF, etc. On my 998 the part was...

    Best sounding muffler

Hi, We had a full length replacement put in at Maggie Valley by SpyderAttitude.com. Turned it into (like said above) a teenager with a "fart can", but not too awful loud with the baffle. What struck me the most was putting the old "cat" and muffler into our pull behind trailer - the WEIGHT of...

    Paddle shifter need help!

Thanks for the pics! Not a fun job. I tried like you know what to get the top off, all I did was scratch the Crap out my plastic. Watched a YouTube video, had the same tool made. So I went the bloody knuckles route. I had no idea where the plug was, but spyderlovers.com came through with this...

    Locked in gear

More details please? I'm trying to understand how the waveplate would get it stuck in gear? Is it permanent (still stuck) or temporary? I also have an 2008 SE, and have a weird issue. It will stick in a gear (2,3,4 usually) or pop into neutral. No codes, no flashing symbols. Do the 30...

    And yet another one....

Yours still going strong at 9K miles! Installed mine on my brand new RTS last year, at about 200 miles. Noticed the vibes right away on the highway. For those who haven't bought one, I'd go with Doc's, as it is even easier than the video he has on his site shows. The temp bolt now has an allen...

    Back from Maggie Valley!

F4 Shields Another club member put an F4 shield on their RT - I really liked it. I could appreciate it on the ride home - my shoulders and arms were cold. That F4 shield is about 4" - 5" wider. With a vent for summer.

    Back from Maggie Valley!

Ryker They also unveiled a Ryker there. I sat on it, pretty comfy position. I like the low seat, low center of gravity. I'm sure it is a great bike with the CVT, but I think a GS/RSS with a sway bar is going to more fun for me. They certainly hit the mark for the young-uns, with the drive...

    Back from Maggie Valley!

450 mile trip from Virginia Beach, in the sideways rain from Hurricane Michael. Friday and Saturday cleared up but was cool. I had a chance to try out a friends RT(998cc) with a new sway bar. Huge difference in turning and hard curves, front dipped very little. So that's next on the list! We...
