• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Using auto tires on any spyder

I ordered all my tires off Amazon and took to the local shop (NTB in my area), no questions asked ever. If you take the rim and new tire they have never even asked me what they went to. However, I have never tried buying at the local shop - that may trigger questions. BTW I order Amazon...

Tire change, belt and muffler/exhaust Question

This is correct - that lever has splines. After pulling out the bolt, pull off the lever. Then - BY HAND - rotate the spline shaft on the brakes clockwise fully. This will put the pads right on the brake rotor. Now slide the lever back on, with the top AS FAR LEFT as you can get it. This way...

    New Dash

According to the site, BUDS (premium or whatever) can reset or change everything. There are two levels of BUDS license regular and whatever they call "pro" or factory. Most shops just have the regular. If you Google BUDS license for can am you can find it on amazon, for like $1400 :)

    Brake Failer Reset Frustration!!!

Remove both fuse box covers, look for the starter relay. May be stuck. Remove it and try battery cable again.

08 RS Electrical & fault issues

Going to need the code(s). To have all those different things going on is really suspect!

Issue shifting gears after heavy rain fall.

The paddle shifter switch is sealed. I know because I spent $250 to swap it out and examined the old one (perfectly good). However, it's connection is on the nose frame of the bike in my case (GS). Not sure where it is on the ST frame, but it is up front. It was a MAJOR PITA to connect that...

    Check engine message

cheapcycleparts.com has them lot cheaper than dealer. Never buy at dealer, 100% ++ markups. can am 420256912 (google it) many places have it! $15 or so cheap fix!

    Check engine message

2008 same thing here happened. However the code you posted doesn't make sense - comes up "Cylinder 5" malfunction!! :) The new oil pressure switch fixed it. The oil light would not go out when started. Engine was running smooth so I knew it was a false reading and not real. If this matches...

08 Spyder GS SM5 misfire/stumble when riding at steady speed

Not sure what problem is, but I heard that the dealership in Gloucester has a certified Spyder mechanic that used to work for a dealership. Without BUDS to monitor other sensors like the cam position & MAP sensors, probably will be difficult. If you apply gas and it clears up I would assume it...

My 2009 gs se5 will not start

Remember to put foot on brake when starting. The oil indicator is on when NOT running as there is no oil pressure yet :). It goes off when it starts. If you hear nothing when U hit the start button, probably brake not pushed, kill switch bumped, etc. Also lookup YouTube video on how to check...

Tidewater, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Virginia Beach Roll Call

That's typical around here. The place in Richmond might offer faster service. However when it comes to alignment issues no better than laser alignment. Google it, there are some people that bought the stuff and do it on the side. Had mine done at Maggie Valley last year - pretty much all...

    gauge replacement

The clock may require battery power? There is no battery power on either of gauges that came out (always hot). You will prob have to run wires to the battery if you haven't already. Since there is a clock on the LCD already, I'd suggest a cigarette lighter or dual USB in one side. Then after...

    Headlights

I just had a bulb go out on my 2008GS. Replaced with the best H7 bulb at Autozone. Noticeably brighter, bit more coverage. Plug and play as you would expect. LED's look good but not uniform on the road due to the headlight lens design (on the one I saw anyways). So I just stuck with the H7...

    Temp gauge

On my GS & RS I get 4-5 bars. Sitting in traffic this weekend with 95+ degrees went to 6 bars for a bit. My 2016 RT (1330cc) stays at about 4 bars.

what have you done to your ST for safety

Reflective pinstriping. I bought 3M black reflective 1/8" and 1/4" wide. I put it along the edge of the windshield, along the floorboards, on the frame, rear grips, etc. everywhere that was already black. I liked the look on my Pearl White ST, so I also ran the 1/8" along the "seams" or...

    2012 vs 2015... RSS

I agree with PistonBlown! I have two 998cc RS's and love the higher rev. The only thing to watch for is keep an eye on the oil level. It loves to sputter up into the airbox - if you haven't done the mod described on this board elsewhere. Just because it is discontinued I don't let that...

    Cardo Bluetooth - any thoughts

I also did a ton of research and settled on the Cardo Freedom 4 series. It has a great app for the phone, very easily accepts incoming calls by just saying "Hello" loudly into the mic. My requirement was auto switching from music to phone to intercom. Fewer buttons and easier for my wife :)...

    Vibration GONE

Nope. BRP even sells one as an add-on, so they know about the issue. Of course their product is junk, bearing blew out. BRP upped the tension a while back trying to get rid of it. The only good, permanent solution is a belt dampener. Good news it is easy as heck to put on. Had mine...

I need a Stock Muffler for a 2013 Can Am Spyder RSS

I have a stock muffler off a 2008GS. Think they are all the same. About half of the black is worn or chipped off, but tape it up and some black high temp paint make it look 90% new. If I remember I can post pic later today. I just want it gone from my garage, taking up space :) Someone...

    '13 RSS won't start...Help?

You said you measured the voltage - measure it when the bike is running. Should be 14+ volts. If it is, something seems to be draining the battery. If not, the stator as mentioned usually is the culprit. I had a 2013 ST that would let the brake switch stick on. I'd walk away not knowing it was...
