• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

998cc 2013 RT - can too many LED lights cause Hyperflash?

Search Youtube or this site for hyperflash. There is a procedure to correct it. I know I watched a video on it, maybe from LaMonster.

Ticking near the shifter may mean front pulley going bad?? On mine it ticked when accelerating, stopped when decelerating. Got worse and REAL loud after only 100 miles. Splines on pulley were worn off. Pulley covered in red dust. Just a thought.

    Will an ST-S SM5 suit?

Depending on why you are leaving two wheels might play into what you want to look for. The Ryker is not a super comfy ride IMHO for long hauls - but you have an iron butt then maybe :). We started with an STS-LTD (radio, GPS, etc.) and it was decently comfy with stock seat. However when my...

    Any Cardo Packtalk Bold issues?

We have the Freedom4 from Cardo, they are great. We also are thinking about the PackTalk, since they will re-connect and daisy chain. Please post your experience if you get them! They are pricey, so I'd like to see how other fair :)

Metal Clunk sound when hitting a hole with rear wheel

Mine did the same - after I installed a trailer hitch. Those bumps work loose the tightest bolts. You got a hitch? Check it :)

    P081B Error Code - 2011 Spyder RT

Based on the circuit in question, probably won't take care of a miss. When my 998cc started getting a miss I ordered the plug & wire kit from bajaron (sponsor here) off EBay. Wires are way heavier, plugs are iridium fine tip. Miss went away. Also if you haven't you must replace the 3mmID x...

Will a bad Gearbox Position Sensor cause a Spyder to run rough?

Jay, One more thing to look at. The '08's had an issue where noise got on the transmission control Unit (TCU) CanBus (the wires that the three computers use to talk to each other). BRP issued a grounding wire kit to ground the coil frame to the radiator, then to the big ground bolt above the...

    Night riding glasses

My wife swears by the yellow night driving glasses she got at an auto parts store. Another pair via Amazon when those were lost. She didn't like the padding at first, but without it swirls of wind got in her eyes and made them water up. With the padding this didn't happen.

    2020 Spyder Orders

That's hard to tell with a new model. The 2020 is a physically different bike. BRP has also been having a lot of issues with "BRP Connect" the new dash in 2018+. To be honest I'd look into new 2017+ still sitting in a showroom if you want new. Extremely good deals can be had now with the new...

Will a bad Gearbox Position Sensor cause a Spyder to run rough?

My 2008 GS SE5 had the GBPS go bad. It ran TERRIBLE for some reason. Not sure why. After I replaced it, it still ran awful and barely made it to the shop for the BUDS reset - bucked and snorted the 10 miles to get there. They charged me $40. Driving away from the dealer ran great, after a...

09 SE5 Parking Brake not "there"

I installed the more $$ ones on the rear (I forgot which ones). The rear brake does most of the work, seeing as it is worn out when the fronts are barely 50%. Work an extra few $ not to have to do rear brakes sooner.

Coolant dropping seems normal after what you have done. The oil, if checked cold will give an inaccurate reading. Check when bike is warmed up on a flat surface. Probably a good idea to change oil again in 500 miles or so to be sure any gunk or trapped garbage is flushed out. We admire your...

Lots of maintenance leads to VSS fault --- :( ----- 2008 GS

The computer monitors the current used by the headlights & tail lights. Some LED bulbs that are not CAN BUS friendly (draw the right power) will trip codes.

    Front sprocket access

I have changed out several sprockets. Once you get the belt back on, and the rear shock re-mounted, I slid a broom handle through the rear wheel and let it clamp to the frame when torquing the front bolt. Also, look up the new paste to put on the splines. It transfers torque better, but I...

    Another wheel fell off...

Agreed! I am hoping to make more owners aware, and keep to local streets if your bike is in the recall dates. It scares the bejeesus outta you seeing it happen pulling out of a gas station, hate to think of highway speeds. The reports of poor material from vendor #2 makes sense, and I am happy...

Hooligan bike!! Love it. That's exactly what it is - Want to see whats down this trail? No problem! Wanna do burnouts and feel like a kid again? Hell yea! (you can afford tires now LOL) :)

    Another wheel fell off...

As long as Rhyker owners are quickly made aware by recall or hopefully by reading the forums and are at least informed. I *LOVE* the Rhyker! Fun as hell to be able to take off down a dirt road to see where it goes. But it is a safety issue. If the wheel came off at 75MPH - which the Rhyker was...

    Another wheel fell off...

This is TRUE. Rhyker wobbled sometimes on take off, but hitting the brakes once cleared it. Took to the dealership TWO TIMES with this complaint, just 2 weeks before the recall came out. Cannot believe the dealers were not aware enough to replace nuts on caution, or at least try to sell him a...

    Another wheel fell off...

We did a walk around after discussing the recall. I personally tugged on the clips, and tried to see if there was any wobble on either wheel - there was not. Based on the information in the recall about weak spots, they can give at any moment. That means unless you XRay the nut when checking...
