• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Red Headed Step Child versus F3

You have all made some good observations here. As with the motorcycle market, Spyders are now being offered to cover the main model segments, which are actually riding positions and feature packages. We have the Sport (RS), Sport Touring (ST), Touring (RT) and now Cruiser (F3). They all...

    F3 Frunk... any pictures?

That picture makes it look bigger than what it really is. In real life it appears to be only 1/2 the volume of what we are used to. It is small. A helmet will be a tight fit, maybe some room left below it, but it is much smaller. I added an image of the front end without all of the plastic...

    F3 vs. RS

Before you call somebody a cookie jar test pilot you had better gather a bit more information before you start pointing fingers. I stand behind my experience and credentials. I have been testing and doing critical reviews on new powersport vehicles for my entire adult life. They did not pay...

    F3 vs. RS

I believe the weight reduction would be with the 1330 in comparison to a comparable RT model, so you would be correct in it being 50 lbs. more than an RS. We can check the spec sheets to be sure. Sorry for the confusion! When I rode it I would say it didn't really feel any heavier than an ST-S...

what are the shifting points for the F3?

Percentage-wise a couple of inches should be a complete non-issue. It is a long belt, either way. If anything the shop guys will now have to be careful to use the right one. Like on a sled, you are more efficient with as large of a small gear as possible, so we wouldn't want to go any smaller...

    F3 Frunk... any pictures?

Yes the frunk is quite small. I would say 1/2 of what we are used to. Maybe get a helmet in there. I carried my backpack in there. I will look to see if I got a photo of it, was high on my list but I think I spaced it out. The front radiators are mounted sideways along the nose bucket. I do have...

    F3 vs. RS

We actually flew up there in a Lear jet. No kidding. Talk about cool!

what are the shifting points for the F3?

Yes I will have an F3 to ride. Zero doubt. The ones with the red frame tubes were really horny, not sure if I want the magnesium or the white with the red rails. They were all really sweet in real life. The image they project is so bold and muscular. They just plain look bad ass sitting there...

    F3 vs. RS

The media event just occurred Sunday-Tuesday. There were 21 media guys there from all over the planet, mostly motorcycle but also automotive and Lifestyle. It will take them a few days to get their ride impressions written. Most of the bike guys were from So Cal, and they had not much Spyder...

what are the shifting points for the F3?

Just put another post in the general discussion (F3 vs. RS) section as well. I am so stoked about the F3, can not believe how well it worked.

    F3 vs. RS

I own a 2008 GS, and a 2013 ST-S. I am NOT a cruiser guy. But I just got back from riding the F3 up in Quebec for a couple of days, and have to tell you, you will probably forget you even own a RS once you ride it. By virtue of putting the rider in a lower and further back position the chassis...

what are the shifting points for the F3?

The F3 is geared slightly lower with a 4-tooth larger rear sprocket and a drive belt that is 2" longer. The machine seems to run at 500 RPM higher for a given road speed. It squeaks the rear tire much easier, with a more aggressive drive-away characteristic. You can squak the rear tire in most...

    can you believe this question?

Many people who are not mechanically savvy know of the inherent instability of three-wheel vehicles. The tricycle and 3-wheel ATV are the classic examples. With the single wheel in front, the vehicle is unstable going forward, but surprisingly stable in reverse. Their higher center of gravity...

    New teaser video

Yes, there are adjustable foot pegs and multiple handlebar heights so each rider can be ergonomically fit as they wish. This is being positioned as a "cruiser" which means feet out in front of you and hands up. This model segment is in addition to, not instead of, any of the current existing...

    Negative Comments

Getting to the Root Cause Anytime an individual has an "issue" with their Spyder (or any other product, for that matter) we have to apply logical troubleshooting techniques and try to determine the root cause of the complaint. Sometimes it is an actual issue with the engineering, assembly, or...

Got my warranty tires put on yesterday

I am happy to hear your new tires made such a difference! So many times a Spyder that jumps and shakes is "fixed" with a new set of tires. Scary. That's why we call them CHEAP OEM tires. So many are out of round. You TRY to balance them and they are all over the place. Some of them require...

What Replacement tires are there for front in 165/55R15?

The Federal EVO 595 is a "drifter" tire with very stiff sidewalls. Not really a good tire design or construction match for a Spyder. The only good thing about it is the exact 165/55-15 size match. I would be very careful using the Federal in the rain. Your better options IMO would be the Kumho...

    NEED TIRE HELP!!!!!

Not True You are getting some bad advice. For starters, there are still many places from which you can buy the Kumho rear tire. Try discount tire. Your dealer is able to look at the part number on the rear tire and tell if it is the 2013/2014 soft compound or if it is the 2012 longer lasting...
