• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's the best Rear Tire for my 2015 RT Ltd?

If you go with a car tire and you want the same size as OEM, this Kumho might fit the bill: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M24Z5VO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Any more feedback on Kenda Kanines?

Not to derail the thread but I guess it is pertinent: My local auto tire store changed all 3 tires for me without question ($75 total). I knew they couldn't balance the rear (neither could my local Can Am dealer) but was surprised when I went to pick them up and was told the arbor on their...

Any more feedback on Kenda Kanines?

I got 4000 miles out of the rear OEM Kenda. I got 6000 miles out of the rear Kanine Kenda. It still wore in the middle of the tire just like the OEM tire. You are basically throwing away 1/2 a tire because the inner & outer sides of the tires had hardly any wear. I suspect that all they...

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

I don't know about a 12 pt socket but mine is a 6 pt and it worked great. I would be hesitant to put 166 ft-lbs of torque on that socket of yours if it is not snug - you might have a bigger headache if the nut corners get rounded. There was no cotter pin on my 2020 RT although it looked like...

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

If you have a Northern Tool near you they sell a 36mm combo wrench for $25. If you have a coupon, you can save $5 each. They are excellent quality. My local Harbor Freight didn't have one that big but surprisingly my local Northern Tool had a vast selection of large sockets and wrenches. I...

South Carolina Spyder Rally, Anderson,SC - places to ryde?

Gosh, just about any road in the Appalachian mountains of KY, WV, V, TN, NC, SC and GA is well worth traveling. If you post the route you likely will take, I can propose a few along the way. Checkout https://www.motorcycleroads.com/ and invest in the Butler Motorcycle maps that cover the...

WTF? Can't find anyone to mount my new Quadtrac tires!

Given the way the Canadian government is handling the trucker/Covid issue, I would bet there are some Govt regulations somewhere that are involved as well. Having worked for Michelin years ago, I doubt we will see them make a golf cart tire anytime soon like Kenda (although Michelin used to...

WTF? Can't find anyone to mount my new Quadtrac tires!

I "think" that he is referring to the axle. I'm with you, when I think of a swing arm bolt I immediately think of the bolt where the swing arm attaches and pivots at the frame and this does not get touched during a tire change.

Which Vredestein - Quatrac or Quatrac 5?

Since you quoted me I guess you are directing your comment to me? Not sure if you read my previous responses in this thread - see #34 in particular. Regarding people running Kenda tires....I don't think anyone except Kenda makes a tire the exact size as BRP recommends and installs on the...

    Rear hub, what to remove?

I didn't move the adjusters and the belt moved. The problem is that the axle moves a small amount during the tightening of the axle nut and this small amount is enough to cause the belt to "walk". You have to keep constant tension on the axle so that it stays in contact (with significant...

    Rear hub, what to remove?

I left the disc brake rotor and the ABS ring on the hub when I took it to the dealer to have the tire mounted. The sprocket/pulley and the rubber isolation pads will need to come off and you may wish to mark the position of the pulley and the wheel and mark each pad with some blue tape so that...

Thinking of doing The Tail Of The Dragon... any comments or suggestions?

As others have noted, avoid the weekends. There is way too much traffic for anyone to enjoy the road. Best time is in the AM, most any week day but Tues-Wed-Thu are best. If you get down into N. GA, make sure you do Highway 60 and 180 and 197.

Which Vredestein - Quatrac or Quatrac 5?

The reports of the previous generation (Quatrac 5) have all been good from what I have seen. The tread pattern on the Quatrac is different than the Quatrac 5 - what else is different I don't know. If you can wait a few weeks, I'll let you know my impressions when I get mine installed. That is...

This has to be a new record!

You were lucky. Mine was renewed in Dec 2020 right in the middle of a Covid peak. Due to DOT shutdowns, I had to drive 45 minutes (one way) and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get through the line that was snaked outside the building into the parking lot - All in the cold and we had to stand...

Which Vredestein - Quatrac or Quatrac 5?

Yeah, on Saturday I saw that their website was showing them back in stock so I contacted them about my backorder but I have not heard back from them yet. Hopefully, I will get them this week. EDIT: Heard from Tire Rack. My tires should be here this week. Long story short, some Tire Rack...

Which Vredestein - Quatrac or Quatrac 5?

165/60 - just a tad taller than the OEM size but the same width. They told me when I placed the order that it would be late Feb or early March but I see that the Tire Rack website now shows them in stock so I will have to check with them to see where mine are.:gaah:

Which Vredestein - Quatrac or Quatrac 5?

I should get about 6-7K out of the rear Kanine that I bought from you last spring. I only got 4K out of the OEM Kenda. And yes, it is wearing in the center just like the OEM, just not as quickly. I have already bought a Kumho Ecsta AST for the next one to go on the rear - If I get 10-12K...

Rear LED Brake light bad - anyone else?

Not really clear after reading the posts if it is just one side, or just one led or if you have no brake lights at all. If you get no brake lights at all, check your brake light switch (under the brake pedal). Mine went out recently - $50 item and fairly easy to replace except for access to...

Looking to buy - is Limp Mode really a problem?

The brake light switch on my 2020 RT with about 9K miles went into limp mode suddenly when I was pulling out onto a very busy 4 lane highway where I had to accelerate hard to merge with the rush hour traffic. I suddenly had a dramatic loss of power before I was fully merged and it was a "hairy"...
