• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Battery life

Too many variables to say. Your climate even plays a part, heat is harder on batteries than the cold. I have found one thing that extends their life is to put them on a battery tender during the off season. I would venture to say that it has doubled the life of some of my batteries by having...

    GoPro Mount

I've yet to capture any video with the Spyder but I use a helmet cam when snowmobiling. This follows your line of sight and gives you much more variety of subject matter than just the road ahead. I've experimented with various stationary mounts and some serve a purpose but for more subject...

    Motorcycles don't wave back.

They may be afraid to let go of the Ape Hangers to wave... Don't mean to highjack the thread but wanted to share something from earlier in the week. We've all seen and heard the HD guys crack the throttle when going through an underpass. The other day I was in my car behind one at a stop sign...

    video editing apps/ software

I've been recording videos for a few years now. I'm on my second camera, a Go Pro Session which I chose for best price point and fewer bells and whistles. Starting out can be frustrating, not only with the camera but also whatever editing program you choose. I currently have the PowerDirector 16...

    RT won't start

I did the same exact thing a couple of weeks ago. Wasted some perfectly good cuss words until I remembered........ brake, mode, and little black button. Life is good when sitting on a Spyder!:)

    Difference of models

You are correct sir, mine is an RT Special as the compressor is manual.

    Difference of models

Mine is the RTS with the Special designation. I was told by the dealer that Special refers to the color scheme which on mine is a combination of Matte and Polished finish.

    Winter Weather has not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One Picture says it all.... The ruler wasn't big enough, had to use the yardstick.

    Sleet pelting the house

Never Doubt the Ground Hog... Looks like Wisconsin is Ground Zero for this blizzard. Hardly any snow all winter and now this. Pretty much "snowed in" both Saturday and Sunday. Most churches have cancelled services and most retail is closed. Monday morning should be interesting when we all go...

2017 RT battery problems need advise

I'll try to keep this short. The day I picked up the new Spyder was a day I'm sure the dealer would like to forget. Everything that could go wrong...did. They were short staffed on the scheduled day to take ownership. They rolled the unit out in the showroom covered with dust and fingerprints...

It happens every year at this time...

Just as I'm about to bring the Spyder out of hibernation......10" of snow predicted for our part of Wisconsin! Somebody get Al Gore on the phone cause this isn't suppose to be happening. The thing is....this past winter was another "low snow" year for us, not much at all. Guess it's time to...

    Accident and road hazardss

Last year was my first summer on the Spyder. One thing someone shared with me was when traveling on a 4 lane, two lanes in one direction, never remain parallel to traffic in the next lane. Either pass or fall back, if you're in a blind spot they can't see you for a period of time. That, or...

    No Power After Battery Change

Pretty sure it's a bad battery. Mine was the same way when I took delivery, lights all came on but just a clicking noise from the starter.

    Wrasslin with the Battery

BINGO! Thanks Idaho, I think you've got it. I should be able to reference those two slots with the adjacent bolt heads. I hate to waste good cuss words on a simple issue like this, I'll save those for another day for something more challenging.:D

    Wrasslin with the Battery

Different model but same application, thanks. Mine has molding across the top and none of the cables and components are visible which makes it hard to line up the two tabs on the top. Any other thoughts are welcomed.

    Wrasslin with the Battery

Just watching the snow melt here in Wisconsin has me thinking about the Spyder. Shouldn't be too much longer but in the mean time....... How the heck do we reinstall the battery on this thing? (2016 RT, the battery is behind the Frunk) I removed the battery last fall when it went into storage...

    RT Seat Comfy or No?

I honestly don't change my setting much. If I hit a rough patch I might bump it up or down but most times it's in my comfort zone. May also make a change if I'm solo or with a passenger. As far as the seat comfort, I'm fine with that. The backrest is a nice add-on, really no issues.

    R.I.P.

Which got me thinking.... How many MASH Characters have we lost? After doing a quick search; Col. Potter, Col. Blake, Frank Burns, Trapper John, Charles Winchester, Father Mulcahy, Major Freedman (psychiatrist) RIP indeed. A great show and we still watch it in syndication.

    Snowmobiling in Wisconsin

The Winters in Wisconsin can last forever and I've always felt that if we are going to live in this area I should make the most of it. So while the Spyder is tucked away snug as a bug in a rug until Springtime here's a video of how I spend my free time during the winter months. The machine is...
