• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    I didn't think this could happen !!!

No, can't say I've ever had a close call with a chicken. Deer, reckless teenagers, but no chickens. Glad it turned out well!

Just bought a 2014 RT SE6. Few questions

#3 This has happened to me several times. What I found is that I wasn't pressing down hard enough on the brake. It doesn't take a lot of pressure but it is sensitive. As you already know, if you miss one step in the process she ain't gonna go. Good luck with all things Spyder!

Thinking about buying a Spyder RT Limited

I would suggest starting with a cover or covers. I have both the half cover and the full size and use them both depending on the conditions. The covers protect the finish and seat and they also prevent prying eyes if you're traveling and it's parked overnight somewhere. The BRP backrest was...

    BRP Backrest question

I have the same year and model and the seat is definitely different than mine. However, the backrest looks the same as mine. Looks like you've got a mismatch there.

    Keeping rodents out

Couple of thoughts; Make sure there is no food supply in the same building/area. Things like bird seed, corn for the squirrels, etc. Anything that looks like a Free Buffet. Consider getting a cat, they're great hunters and a small tray of cat food and an old blanket next to your Spyder should...

    May's Weather News

Here in Wisconsin for the weekend, the skies are blue and high temps near 60. Planted some early vegetables in the garden, onions and potatoes, the rest will go in after next week. The Spyder is gassed up and is ready for some backroad adventures. Then shish kabobs on the grill when we get home...

    Your First One

Since many of us have made the transition from two wheels to three it may be interesting to know your first motorcycle. Year, make and model would be great, a picture would be even better. I googled the year and make and found this one; 1967 Bridgestone 90 My first cycle around 1970...

    Oil change by suctioning

I'll probably get flamed for this... so here goes nothing. I use a vacuum tank but not on the Spyder. It started quite a few years ago when we bought our first boat with an inboard engine. They mount those things as low as possible and there was no way to get a catch pan under the engine. I...

    Fuels for Spyders?

I lost track of the dollars spent and trips to the small engine shop before they convinced me. The smaller the engine the more likely there to be issues with plugged carburetors. I started buying pure gasoline in the quart cans and the little engines love it. I know it's way over-priced but I...

    Removing stickers, etc from helmets

Yes, a hair dryer is the safest. Some elbow grease and a plastic scraper should work. I would avoid chemicals such as Goo Gone, etc. I've had some costly mistakes with that stuff.

What tools would you put in a Medium sized Tool Roll?

All good suggestions. I like Cash. I keep a reasonable amount hidden on the Spyder for an emergency. Never leave home without it!

    BRP Jackets

I have the Cruise Jacket from BRP. Removable Liner, lots of vents and windproof. About the only drawback is that it's a little bit heavy compared to jackets from Columbia for example. I've been wearing the BRP brands for snowmobiling for years and I find their gear is very durable and plenty of...

    Happy Easter, Spyderland

Strange times we're living in folks. Depending on where you live, no public church service, no family gatherings larger than 10, and some states are restricting travel. Let's hope the Easter Bunny makes his rounds for the little ones. I don't think the quarantine includes rabbits, do you? Here...

Tickets for ryding in Maryland and other places??

In our town here in Wisconsin (population of 30K) the police are only making contact with civilians in emergencies. Minor things like missing license plates, etc. are being allowed, for the time being. The Interstate that runs through here has a lot of truck traffic which is a good sign we're...

    Rain seat cover?

If you're concerned about having a "wet seat" the BRP 1/2 cover would be adequate. It covers the windshield, dash, seat and as far back as the antenna.

    Great day to ride however...

Well, I've been wondering about this, I'm glad you brought this up. If a person were to go for a ride around town/the neighborhood with the intent of not coming in contact with anyone, would this be acceptable? I understand the essential trips and errands protocol. But if you were to jump on...

    Positive things from the Pandemic

I'm one of those people that never balances his checkbook. I make sure there's enough in there to cover expenses but I'm never sure of the exact amount. Today, with all this time on my hands I balanced the little bugger and I found $349 that I didn't know I had. So that's a positive thing I guess.

    April's weather news

Here in Wisconsin the Winter Snows are long gone but the weather is as gloomy as the current events. Been cloudy and cool for weeks it seems, maybe 50's later this week. I'm anxious for my first spin on the spyder for this season. Maybe tomorrow!
