• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Traffic lights and Spidey Senses

I’m absolutely certain the city of St. John’s, Newfoundland, has added special sensors to all its traffic lights. When I rode to work this morning, every time I approached an intersection, the city ‘spidey senses’ started tingling and the lights turned red. Where’s Peter Parker when you need him?

    New use for a spyder....

It was the town’s bulk garbage pickup day and I had a couple of heavy old appliances in the back yard I wanted to put out for pickup. Was a bit much to lift and carry easily so it was Spyder and trailer to the rescue. My improvised wheelbarrow:

    To gurus and mentors.

STRONGLY agree. If the intent is to zip past the scenery so fast you can’t even see it the Spyder is the wrong machine. Take the time to enjoy the ryde....

How do I run a USB cable from the glove box to the frunk?

I’ve mounted a dual USB and 12v port in the frunk, direct to battery (fused). I want to run a charging cable from there into the glove box. I’m not using the BRP-C port because a. it’s switched and I want always on, and b. no matter which cable I connect to the BRP-C port the charging flickers...

    Tankie Rides Again!

Tankie rides again! Tankie’s story: Thanksgiving 2006 I was home on leave from workup training for my first tour in Afghanistan. The Canadian mission was the topic of conversation around the family dinner table. My oldest son, Nathan, then 14, asked why Canada was sending tanks to...

    Potential new buyer needs advice

I migrated from a 2012 Yamaha Venture (850 lb) to a 2020 RT Limited last April. I spent 29 years inCanada’s infantry before retiring at age 60. Essentially I have no knees left. My legs have thanked me every ride since. The comfort, the ability to flex my legs and change positions on those huge...

Sounds too good to be right - gas usage/range

I don’t necessarily think premium is ‘better’, but I do think the engineers that designed it understand what it needs better than I do. Following the manufacturers recommendation might cost me $2 a fill-up, but the smiles are still worth it. Of course, :f_spider: Your Mileage May Vary :f_spider:

In for the annual service visit.

I believe the engineers who designed them understand the maintenance needs better than I do. Fluids (oil, brake fluid, coolant, etc. ) degrade over time as well as with use. There’s a reason the maintenance schedule has both time and mileage limits. I see following the maintenance...

    Riding with a passenger.

Change the ride, not the machine. Talk to your passenger. Find the riding style where you’re both comfortable. If you change the hardware to improve the 2-up the change may negatively impact the 1-up.

Rode the Can-Ams in for their annual service visit yesterday. Hope we’ll get them back this afternoon. Chilly, but fabulous. Brought the feeling right back.

Need a Passenger backrest - what options are there?

I’ve got the showchrome. Took a firm push the get the mounting bracket into position, but once I had that simple install good fit. Very comfortable

    Is Next Service Still Necessary?

Oil degrades over time, as well as with mileage. There’s a reason the manual has both a time and mileage figure in the service schedule. I think the engineers who designed it understand it’s mechanical needs better than I do, so I see following the maintenance schedule as ‘cheap insurance’. I...

Thinking of switching to 3 wheels from 2...not a Spyder owner...yet

I’m 61. Went to the 2020 RT-L last year from an 850lb Yamaha Venture. My knees have thanked me every ride since I switched. Fabulous machine, incredibly comfortable. My wife rode it once and said “I want the smaller one”, so we bought her the ‘20 Ryker 900 ACE. She put more miles on that last...
