• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OK really dumb question Oil Change

I didn't see the series that were referred to. The fella who did the 2009 went through an entire service; was brief and took good video and was very clear. The whole thing only lasts a few minutes so it fits my attention span. Some of the videos I have seen sort of droned on and on about...

OK really dumb question Oil Change

Best I saw on youtube.com for the oil change. One thing to add.... there is a metal retention washer on the bolt that holds the bottom plastic (underneath) panel. There are two bolts that are visible but you must loosen the the black panel under your oil tank panel and in the front under the...

OK really dumb question Oil Change

Actually, most of the videos out there and the factory shop manual are not that helpful for the v-twin. There was a video from 2009 by an RS owner that was most helpful as he showed the location and what the drain plugs and oil filter cover looked like. The manual would have you remove almost...

I think a couple tubes of Preparation H are in order here.

    Majic Tank users?

OK... it finds the little residual gas in your tank and PUSHES it into the engine? I saw the price as $40 a gallon. With my RT, if I bought the 1/2 Gallon container, that means I could go about 437 feet on $20 of this stuff. THe average US car gets 35 mpg? In which universe? It is...

    Interesting video on the Spyder

Hanging off may look cool, but not sure it adds much to riding a 3 wheeler.

    Frustrating Service Experience

Don't know much about where ya'll live, but down here in Texas, best place to get Rotella T6 in correct weight is Tractor Supply; most everything they have on the shelf is without friction modifiers and works great in a bike.

things I would like to see on RT

    1. longer mud flap for rear wheel so it doesn't sling slop in rainy weather 2. full floor boards (such as the Seal boards) 3. MUCH better anti-sway bar and front shocks/springs (better handling) 4. MUCH better visibility via lights from all four sides 5. digital voltmeter and oil pressure gauge...

    laser alignment

Keep in mind that an alignment was done at the factory albeit probably incorrectly from what I gather. This being the case, your RT's computer will use the old alignment info for various systems and the bike's computer needs reset via BUDS system after alignment is done or it will continue to...

    trailer hitch

On my GL1500 Roadsmith trike, the on-bike harness for the trailer hitch was isolated... essentially run off its own relay (can't recall one or two relays) and then the same wires out. I am not sure I understand the "converter". What does it convert?

    trailer hitch

I am thinking about a trailer hitch. See the Can-Am hitch is over $500 on eBay and includes the electronics module (whatever that is). I see you can get an aftermarket hitch for about $200. Since there is little chance I will be buying a Can-Am trailer due to its insane cost, is there a how...

    Just WONDERING WHY

MC-Dave... I think you would want to go hide for a day or two and ask the question about a rally in a somewhat different way. The rabbit trails are being wore out again! Bwhahahaha

    vacation spot

I am fairly familiar with Arkansas and E. Oklahoma. Have been all through the Ouchitas and Arkansas many times. Love the area and really never get tired of the great roads, friendly people and lack of gas stations when you need one!

    vacation spot

Just took a look at the weather in Rapid City SD... 56 degrees at 4:37 CST. Geesh, MID WINTER HAS HIT! We are having a cold spell here at home and it is 97F. I really need to ride somewhere where I don't need to figure out how to work those heated grips hehe

    vacation spot

Like some advice. I can't take any extended trips this fall due my wife's lack of vacation time. Several times this past year, my wife was forced to use vacation for family reasons and she won't have enough to put together two week until the spring. We pretty much only take trips in the...

Dead STS: No Electronic Display & No Electrical Power

The multimeter is the right answer. Also, if you charge a motorcycle battery, 1/2 amp trickle charge for at least 8 hours. Not sure what you meant by @10A so I am stressing the correct way to charge the battery. If you are not getting anything on your dash display or the starter solenoid...

    Rear Dimension RT Limited

Rear dimension? 40 inches? What am I missing. I believe my 2010 RT is about 48 inches wide in the front which is it's widest and about 48 inches wide across the rear had saddlebags.

    First Time Without a Helmet

Well, I think I have heard from all the helmet police. "I do this, I do that". And the best one.... "you will die a grissley death and be all yucky!" Geesh, this is the land of the free and home of the little ol' lady/politically correct! As the great 21st century philosopher, Mr. Bobby...
