• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Portable GPS Questions

I’ve been running a Zumo 550 for 10 years now. Two things, the BRP stock mounting spot puts the gps out of my sight line so I used a dash mount to bring it up. Second is to use a sun shade or hood to keep as much sunlight off the screen itself. Iirc, you can change the font size on the Zumo (not...

    Finally, 1981 850 going together

Looking good! My college graduation gift to myself was a 1981 GS750E. My riding partner had a 1982 GS850L. After riding the L, I wanted the shaft drive G but it was not to be. Ended up keeping the E and finally traded it on a 1990 Concours. I haven’t fussed with a chain drive bike since.

    Doc Humphrey’s spring stiffeners

We’ve got a pair on my RT and one set on SWMBO’s. They give the front end a bit stiffer spring rate by expanding between two of the coils. They go on with just a 90 degree twist of a wrench. I feel that they money was well spent. https://www.roadsterrenovations.info/suspension-products the...

    B.E.S.T warranty and Florida question....

I think that , if the salesperson said that they wouldn’t honor the Best warranty, that I’d tell the salesperson that you will be buying from a different dealer.

    Now I’m hungry

I’ve been to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. They serve up to 100,000 people each day. We didn’t stay for food but the experience was well worth the train ride there.

    Bluetooth with a half helmet?

Motorcycle Dave is a vendor here. Give him a call If the half helmet unit is being discontinued chances are, it’s just that Sena is ramping down that version of the communicator and that a clamp for one of the 20 or 20 series units will be coming out.

What's the possibility of mounting up a side car to my F3-T.... Has anyone ever done

Speaking of AdvRider.com; there’s a BMW R1100RS and Ural tub done in a Claude Stanley frame for not much money. The BMW is set up more like a tour bike and the Ural tub has a side pass through. Might be cheaper, in the long run, to buy a used rig. If it doesn’t work out, sell the rig and you...

I think the rear suspension system of my 2011 RT ltd does not work

Look at the air bag protector from Roadster Renovations. Doc ran into this problem a while ago and put together a kit to help prevent it happening again. https://www.roadsterrenovations.info/ http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?96034-2014-Air-Ryde-Pump-Replaced

    ATGATT- less, more or same

I adjust the gear that I wear based on the season but I’m still fully covered. The only thing that I’ve don’t have fully sorted is knee and hip armon under Kevlar lined jeans so those stay in the closet until I get some Bohn or other armored liners. I usually wear a FF helmet but have worn a 3/4...

    I need help with CB

Ok, I don’t have a CB installed but IIRC, the dongle and the CB take the same port out of the radio so you can’t do both at the same time. The CB should have a cable to connect the hard wired headsets. Was this installed on the dash? I’m stalling until someone with CB install experience chimes in.

    I need help with CB

Is this an OEM unit? I thought that the BRP CB is hard wired only, no Bluetooth headsets.

    Helmet radios

You ask about bike powered. Is this a requirement? The Sena units that have been recommended run about 8 hours on a charge so no real need to power from the roadster. If bike power is a requirement then look at J&M and their Integratr unit. It can be bike powered and can be outfitted to work...

    PDM60 Install

Rowe Electronics PDM-60 is a programmable fuse block. I don’t own one so I don’t know the extent of the “program” but outputs are changeable via a laptop and cord.

    Enclosed trailer question

We’ve got a 7x14 that holds one Spyder with some room to spare. The front 2 ft are taken up by cabinets but my guess is that, without the cabinets, you could get them to fit with the Spyder in front to one side ant the wing to the rear on the other.

    Lady rider appreciation thread

My one, and only, visit to the City of Lost Wages, was to be with my best friend from college when she and her husband renewed their vows on their 10th anniversary. The Elvis impersonator was a hoot. There was a couple, not part of our party, who sat in the back of the room for a couple of...
