• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Favorite ride close to home

Definitely MA 32A, mentioned above (every time I use it , starting from Hardwick village, there's never a car). Going west from there, Shutesbury Road (Tail of the Little Dragon), Rt. 116 from S. Deerfield to Ashfield (curvy and a wooden bridge to the side in Conway), Rt. 112 in Worthington...

    2020 RT Phone Mount

I've been using the X-Grip for years and think it's great. The set up for the Spyder is the XGrip, XGrip tether (rubber thing that slips over each of the four corners of the phone as an added protection), Tough Claw Grip Mount (attached to handlebar) and double socket arm between X-Grip and...

    uncomfortable in corners

Hey, you stole my post (when I was in my first weeks of ownership a few months ago). I asked the same question after I thought I was heading for the right guardrail in a 45-mph left curve. I liked Monk's answer above. The sensation dissipated (not 100% yet) after the first 1000 miles. It was...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Re-routed the dealer-installed Battery Tender cable from the compartment where the radiator reservoir sits, to near the left shock. Now, instead of having to open the frunk and removing the panel above the reservoir each time I want to hook up the tender, I can just kneel down by the left...

Any issues using Iphone with BRP Connect Apps?

No issues with BRP-C........ Since I deleted the app from my phone.

SO I need to buy maps.... Which??

I can tell you that one of the BRP-C map apps, Rever, doesn't work. I have a paid Rever Pro subscription. (They often are offering it for $20 a year). It works just fine on my iphone, but there is virtually zero functionality on BRP-C. I ended up doing what I've done with my previous bikes -...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I modified my old Sena SMH10 to fit my wife's brain bucket. Now we can talk via intercom (to my Sena 20S Evo) or she can shut me down and just listen to tunes via bluetooth from her phone.

Brake Rod Position 3 to Position 4

I've been unhappy with the brake pedal position ("3") since getting the bike 6 weeks ago. I figured that a Position "4" would be about right. While searching, I came across a Lamonster video on how to change the brake rod. And he explained how his product also lowered the angle of the brake...

    Stripped Body Panel Screw

I thought of doing that. I was able to slip an exacto knife in there, but no progress. So, in the end, I made believe I was my dentist and said "when in doubt, drill it out." And that's what I did. At some point I will install a replacement Rivnut. Thanks.

    Stripped Body Panel Screw

I have one of the four Left Side Panel screws apparently stripped. It's spinning freely with the Torx 25 driver but not coming away from the body. This is the second screw from the front (just behind the left fender). I don't want to start drilling it out or just having the dealer replace...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Moved the left floorboard from "3" to "4". Once I saw how easy it was, I ordered the Lamonster "4" brake rod, which will allow me to move the right floorboard to position "4" and lower the brake pedal angle. I haven't liked the brake position/angle since I got the bike a month ago, and now...

    Live RADAR on Spyder

The BRP Connect Accuweather app does not have a radar overlay. I've tried a couple of different ways, but settled on having my phone in an XGrip (RAM also makes XGrip for tablets), which in turn is mounted to the handlebar. I use the paid Rever app for navigation (another app that was useless...

    Gave up on BRP connect

Joining the "giving up on BRP Connect club" - for the second time. I was hoping to use Rever with BRP C, but although it could pull up a list of my rides, it wouldn't navigate or simply overlay my position onto the map so I could follow the route line. Or even start the time and mileage...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Performed my first oil change. Did the change on the garage floor with a bucket shallow enough to slide under the Spyder. Learned a lot as I went along (watched Lamonster's video before starting). Pretty sure that I can do the next one in half the time.

    Spyder Sightings

Saw a red RT while cruising around Newport, RI yesterday. I didn't count all of the "mimi-me" 50-cc rentals running around Ocean Drive.

New F3 Limited, floor board issue

I've been thinking of changing the brake position on my F3L from "3" to "4". My dealer also must have let that UFit stuff slip his mind as well. Are there any special difficulties/special tools required for someone who thinks that they have "average" mechanical skills (able to do a DIY...

    Windshield extension

I've been using a Wunderlich wind deflector on my various bikes for 5+ years and think that it has done a nice job. I have it on my F3-L stock windshield now (just crossed 1000 miles with the new ride) and again, good results. While riding this week, I could see large bugs approaching and then...

    Understeering in curves

Thanks everyone for all the good advice. This forum is so useful. I've spent time hunting down curves to practice on. I found that the postings about lane position and apex really made a huge difference into the effectiveness of my turns. And my confidence going thru them. I know that I...

Do you still have a regular motorcycle along with your Spyder ??

I traded in one of my two bikes, a 650 cc BMW Maxi-Scooter, essential a fully automatic, CVT, motorcycle - to buy my F3-L. I'm very happy that I kept my '09 Honda Shadow Aero 750. As others have said, there's a lot more going on between the ears, riding on 2-wheels. But I still love the...

    Understeering in curves

I'm three weeks into my 3-wheeled life after 10 years on 2 wheels. Yes, it is a transition as adverstised. I'm finding that the biggest challenge is that I appear to be understeering on curves at highway speed. I've had a couple of episodes of the sensation of the inside wheel lifting (which...
