• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Updates for 2018...

RT Additions The Honda Gold Wing has foot warmers, which I would advocate for the RT. The RT should have the option of a 3M nose mask. Self sealing or run flat tires. Lighted trunk vanity mirror (for the better half)

    Coming Soon--The Can Am Hybrid

Hybrid Vehicles My wife and I have a 2003 Toyota Prius. We moved from Vernonia, Oregon to Wilder, Idaho in 2014 and one of the first things we had to do was register it with the DMV. Amongst the numerous fees associated with registering a vehicle, there was also the $75 hybrid vehicle fee...

    Heated Grip, Fuse

Heated Hand Rails The Spyder is over at the local dealership, and underwent a diagnostic today. Have no idea of what they found out. There is a cup holder, clamped to a handrail, but the handrail stopped warming sometime before the cup holder was installed. There is heat to the handgrips, but...

Cell phones need to be jammed while vehicles are in gear

Disabling Cell Phones in gear Some cars come with a combination navigation/dvd system. The dvd player can be played, but only when the car is parked. This is so the driver is not distracted. You'd think that a cell phone could be wired to operate the same way.

    Heated Grip, Fuse

Heated Grips I have a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-SE5. The horn works, and one can feel the heat from the grips if you're not wearing gloves. And the switch for the passenger hand rails is illuminated when the switch is turned on. But it makes no difference whether the switch is on high or low...

    998cc VS 1330cc engines

Acceleration I have yet to ride a 2014 or later Spyder (of any kind), so I can't comment on whether the 2014 and later Spyders are faster. We have a 2012 Spyder RT-SE5, and while it seems to quick on acceleration, I have never tested it in a quarter mile. Nor do I know what the safe, ultimate...

    New member here.

New Member Hello from Wilder, Idaho. My wife and I purchased our 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-SE5 preowned, last September after trading off a 2005 HD Ultra Classic. We're both in our mid 60's, and began to find that the motorcycle was just too heavy and cumbersome to ride comfortably with any ease...

    Hot weather & 2013 RTS

vent scoops Since they had to be purchased, do you recall how much you paid, and how much your dealer charged to have them installed? If I were able to look on ebay to obtain them, what would I be looking for?

    Hot weather & 2013 RTS

Modifications for Hart Was there a recall of the 2013 RTS SE5 from BRP? If so, was that for just the 2013, or would that have included the 2012 as well?

    Respect ??

Acknowledging Life is short. Therefore, I don't have the inclination or time to worry about the "little people" who refuse to acknowledge. I'll wave, and if they wave, I'm grateful. If they don't, so be it. There are just some people who don't understand or comprehend brotherly courtesy.

    a great question

Stranded on Island There's a good movie (Castaway, with Tom Hanks) to watch prior to being stranded on an island. Based on the movie, I'd say, make sure that you've had any dental work completed, and are in good physical shape.

Roadside or not to Roadside.....that is the question.

Good Sam Club I saw two categories in what I thought were membership packages. One was solely for automobiles, and the next pricier one at $117 per year, included motorcycles. I did send GS an email, asking for more information.

    NO AS@##

Numb Seat I have a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-S. It had a comfortable stock seat, but the stictching was coming apart near the front, and there wasn't any backrest. At 65 years of age this year, I've come to the point where I (personally) needed a seat with a backrest. And because I wanted one that...

Roadside or not to Roadside.....that is the question.

Good Sam Club I see where the Good Sam Club has a new membership deal for $79 per year, and they do cover motorcycles. And will tow an unlimited number of miles. GS was initially created for RV owners, but has expanded to motorcycles. The $79 offer, expires in something like 8 hours plus. But...

Roadside or not to Roadside.....that is the question.

Roadside Assistance I have Geico currently, but they will only transport up to 20 miles, before you're charged so much for each additional mile. And the insurance company for the cars which gives excellent service for veterans, does not insurance for motorcycles. I'd have an extended warranty...

Roadside or not to Roadside.....that is the question.

Roadside Assistance But it probably goes without saying that as soon as you drop the roadside coverage, you're going to end up needing it the next time you ride. And then, what? Not too many handy good samaritans around in time of need with a trailer large enough to transport a Spyder.

Jump Starting a 2009 can am spyder GS

Jumping a Can Am I have a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-S. One of things I had done, was to have the battery leads attached to the battery, for the Battery Tender I obtained, solely for the Spyder. That way you can keep the Spyder on the Tender all winter long. But in answer to you question, a car's...

    Well, I'm Selling My Spyder

Selling Spyder When we bought our 2012 RT-S, last September, one of the first things to occur was that the fuel and temperature gauges pegged and froze. The Spyder didn't have an extended warranty, but the salesman (Marty Ford) at Snake River Yamaha was willing to, and did make it good on the...
