• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rear fender question.....again

Here is my fender eliminator, a grafted on CBR 1000 RR Honda tail piece.

    Damaged Highway Bracket Support

JB Weld adheres quite well to plastic. Is there enough room to run a longer bolt through that brass nut and put a washer and another nut on the back/inside of the plastic?

    Elka adjustment tool?

I also misplaced mine and couldn't even remember what it looked like, I carefully used the factory BRP tool with a little tape for protection.

Installing new style SmoothSpyder belt tensioner

I don't agree. Once it is tightened, especially with the Lock-Tite included, it is not going to move ever.

Installing new style SmoothSpyder belt tensioner

Thanks for the tip, but it sounds like a lot of extra work to do rather than removing the side panels as per the instructions.

    Lamonster highway pegs

I can tell you what made a BIG difference on my ST with this problem. I have identical setups on my GS and ST, but the ST would cook my right foot even at highway speeds. After looking for a reason between the two, I discovered they have filled in the area between the radiator and body panel...

Smooth Spyder install video - with lots of videos showing performance

The latest model feeds into the belt because of where it located. There was no other place to attach one on the 10-12 RT's that would lag without drilling. I did asked the tech's that manufacture the tensioner if feeding into the belt was OK, they said it should work fine, but they usually only...

SM5 question for those that shift w/o the clutch

On my GS I upshift without the clutch only on occasion or racing. Smooth as silk 95% of the time as long as the rev's match. Given the amount of problems with the front sprockets coming loose and the splines wearing out on the older GS's, that other 5% and the little jerk you feel when you...

    Bad vibrations with SmoothSpyder installed

Hi WasWinger, sorry, I didn't see your post until I received your Email. Anyone with questions or needing help should call me, I don't get to read everything on here every day. I'm not sure why you are still having vibration, if sounds like you may just be under tensioned and need more than...

    Key West or Bust

I was at Gilberts Tiki Bar in Key largo in key Largo where Capt. Finn used to live on his boat. I asked where he was and was told he took his sailboat and went to Quatemala:dontknow:

    water pump dribble question

My 08 has leaked oil and coolant slightly for over 25,000 miles and never gotten any worse. If just a slight leak where you can see a trace but not really leaking and leaving any puddles I would check the water occasionally and keep riding, this is very common on these engines. By design it is...

Winter's back - this is "bull****"

Well at the other end of the spectrum it is in the 80's in S. Fl, only had a couple times where it even got into the 50's for a few days this entire winter. Was going to trim the trees back before hurricane season as soon as they dropped the leaves so I could see where to cut, even that didn't...

    Earplugs

As Scotty said, I'm much less fatigued after riding a long distance. I keep a small bag of them in my frunk and a couple in each pocket of my jackets. I prefer the foam ones over my custom molded ones.

    Poor MPG with O2 Modifier

Yes the brainstorming sessions are great, I always learn something or at least get another view on things to ponder. Of course with the spyder no two things seem to work the same. I also plugged the purge on my STS SE. It still pops some on the 2nd and 3rd gear shifts, but only half of what is...

    Poor MPG with O2 Modifier

My 2008 has the 02 mod, Leo Vince titanium pipe and the Old Evo Race filter and the purge is blocked. Never had any stumbling or popping. My mileage is usually 29-31 MPG. I don't think I would trade my 02 even up for a new PC or JB.

    Rear tire question

I've had good luck with the Toyo TR1 and the Proxess. The R888 is a soft racing tire, you would be lucky to get 5000 miles.

    Lamonster 1330 RTS Project begins!

The dipped parts are really sharp looking. Count me in for the cat bypass too, nice work on the pipe.
