• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why would you want an asymmetrical rear tire?

OK, I'll bite. I'm on my phone so I hope the order of the pics is correct! 1 is symmetrical and directional 2 is assymmetric and needs to be fitted with the lower part of your picture outwards. 3,4,5 and 6 are assymmetric. 3, 4 and 5 can be run both ways but 6, the mud and snow one, may have an...

Vredestein tire, what do you think?

Actually there is a matching one. I've taken them off the rims so I'll keep them for you, you can collect when you're next passing.

Vredestein tire, what do you think?

It's about the right size, should I fit it or do you think it'll aquaplane? :banghead:

Why would you want an asymmetrical rear tire?

That looks a good bet, wet grip A, very quiet, and reasonably fuel efficient. I'd give it a go for a summer tyre. https://www.mytyres.co.uk/rshop/Tyres/Yokohama/Advan-Fleva-V701/205-55-R15-88V-RPB/R-331336

Why would you want an asymmetrical rear tire?

Well that's pretty much how I feel too, though our rain/sun at the mo is more like 50/50. When in the mountains of Europe this time of year and onwards snow is also possible, erm...likely.

Why would you want an asymmetrical rear tire?

I can't recall a tyre marked 'outside' that didn't also have some form of asymmetric tread pattern but I don't doubt it existed. My guess would be it had an asymmetric construction which imparted a particular characteristic so the tyre would be marked to ensure correct fitment. Yep, that's my...

Why would you want an asymmetrical rear tire?

I think the notion that if the tyre aquaplanes there may be an issue is a misunderstanding of aquaplaning. In this situation the tyre will have completely left the road surface and it will be on top of the water. For all intents, there will be almost zero drag and zero friction; imagine the...

    Catastrophic failure

It's very easy to be critical and blame the Chinese based, it seems, only on predudise but there are plenty of tyre gators on the roads from all sorts of tyres. It may well have been a faulty tyre but it could also be abuse somewhere in the tyre's life. A pothole impact, kerbing, under...

Need advice on 2014 RT I am hoping to buy

Those tyres show wonky wear and they're defo on backwards. The seller may well be honest, but if it were me I'd walk away. There will be others. A wee Scottish saying for you, - What's for you won't go past you.

    Vibration in the handlebars normal?

You shouldn't have to true tyres nowadays. Whilst it's possible to get a faulty tyre, it's rare. If they show an out of round or a wobble they are likely not properly fitted up onto the rims. They need braking off the rim, lubricating and reseating. There is a small molded line around the tyre...

Lazer Adjustment - What exactly are we aligning

I don't think that's possible. The bike can be set up to feel correct, bars central etc, but if the rear wheel is not parallel to the frame, the bike will travel slightly sideways though the wheels will be parallel. It's just a function of the design and an out of alignment rear steers the bike...

    Sonic Tension Question.

Ms Spyderlass has an RTL. You can test the frequency of belt vibration easily enough if you have an Android device. Go to the Google play store and download an app for tuning an instrument, I use one called... Wait for it... Instrument tuner. I then use the guitar tuner function to listen to my...
