• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any suggestions on USB ports for driver and pass heating?

We both have PowerLet outlets installed for heated gear use as well as for emergency air compressor if needed. I've been able to rescue other motorcyclists with flat tires using my oulet and the air compressor I carry.

Just a quick question from a newer operator - are these revs OK?

I have not tried that but I believe that's correct, the engine won't let you shift up if you're not in high enough RPMs for that gear. I have also experienced that if you don't shift up fast enough, the nanny prevents you from redlining it.

What’s your average MPG using what Octane Fuel?

I was thinking about this too since I consistenly get in the very high 30's and low 40s where my husband usually gets more like the mid-30's. I try to keep the RPMs right around 3000 and he tends to prefer 4000. So I shift a lot, trying to keep that 3000. The only time I can't keep it there...

Blue Ridge Windshield on the F3 = Crazy backdraft

Ditto for me and also for my husband. I agree that we both had the same issue with the head buffeting before we added the X-creen. I started with the clamp on (figuring I could remove it easier if I hated it) and then ended up drilling the holes in the Blue Ridge for the permanent install of...

Any good sources for Helmet deals? NeoTec 2?

Amazon sells that helmet, and I wonder if it'll be discounted at all on "amazon day" (coming up sometime in the July 12-15 timeframe. I kind of doubt it but hey... you never know.

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

I got lucky (?) that it held on for about 55K miles? I had visible red dust as soon as we checked it way back in 2015/2016 (can't remember when the red dust threads started). The dealerships kept telling me that if mine was going to happen it would have done so already so I must be one of the...

What’s your average MPG using what Octane Fuel?

That's why I gave my overall average for 64K+ miles for ALL my fillups. I wasn't trying to calculate the average on that tank -- just trying to explain why I had the anomolous 48.4 "high" tank.

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

When it fails, everything kind of falls apart in there and you really lose propulsion. We got lucky that both of our failures were at spots where there was a place to pull over. If you drive a lot of interstates and choose the left lanes with lots of traffic, you may want to rethink that until...

How many miles do you have on a recall pulley/sprocket?

my husband and I both have 2015 F3/F3-S -- he had the failure happen at about 20K miles. Mine didn't have it happen until about 50K miles. I think if your sypder is on the recall list there's a good chance that it's only a matter of time. That said, if you have NO red dust... maybe you'll be...

What’s your average MPG using what Octane Fuel?

yes, the 48.4 was an anomoly but it was still an accurate "tank" -- I filled up in Granby and then again in Walden. I think the distance between the them is 60-70 miles?

What’s your average MPG using what Octane Fuel?

I use fuelly.com to track it (mostly -- I've only tracked 64K+ miles when I have 66K+ miles on my spyder) because it's an easy way to see those trends if you try other octane etc. I get the best mileage at 91 octane. My overall average for the miles that I've tracked is 39.9. Last tank was...

So had a bit of an accident today

A bump-skid or skid plate is definitely worth it. Can't tell you how many times it's saved front-end/under parts for me. There's a particular cattle guard at the bottom of a hill and I that often have disagreements. I've rounded the front point of the skid plate on it several times, but no...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

both my husband and I have had to replace our front sprockets already, so I hope we're both "ok" until the permanent fix happens. I was kind of happy to see this -- at least that there may be a permanent fix in the works? Wonder what that is and how it differs from what has been done as the...

    Kenda Kanine Tires

I found some other threads on it and see that it is supposed to have less traction -- so maybe my "grippier" result is just because the new tire has tread on it compared to the old tire which was smooth in the middle. That said, it appears to be grippy enough to handle tight curves at speed.

    Kenda Kanine Tires

nothing came up for me when I tried following this link. I just got the Kanine back tire and it seems much "grippier" than the old Kenda. Did a spirited ride up and down Rist canyon and Buckhorn road last night and didn't slide around in the areas I expected the back tire to break loose.

Your thoughts on F3 Drag Bars? Why so expensive?

I had attitude bars and replaced them with the drag bars and I'm very happy with them. I didn't realize the attitude bars aren't available anymore -- I should sell mine ;)

    Garage Door opener Spyder f3-S

I added velcro to the back of ours and some velcro on the flat area between the handlebar and the display and just leave it there most of the time. If we stop at a restaurant, I'll put it in the trunk, but the rest of the time, it just lives where the velcro is.
