• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2020 RTL burning smell

We still have the "burning rubber" smell with nearly 2k on the OD, though not as bad as it was. The first couple days of riding there was a burning plastic smell, it was a large label (from manufacturing process?) stuck to the cat, I thought for sure a wiring harness was melting. After that...

Ferry Crossings - do Spyders need to strap down?

no tie downs for our RT's on the Clinton to Mukilteo or Kingston to Edmonds ferry crossings. First ones on and first ones off both times. You stay with your ride, out in the elements at the front on the ferry. Port Angeles to Victoria, bikes we parked along the left (port) side of the ferry...

    Spyder Sightings

Saw 2 what looked to be RTL's (blue/red pilots only) heading south from conway, wa as we were heading west... large turnaround, didn't make eye contact. We continued on to clinton and took the ferry to Mukilteo and then rode home to lake stevens. We ride chalk white RT's, justin case you see us!

BATTERY TENDER CABLE ROUTING (outside of the frunk)? 2020 RTL

we added an accessory fuse block, run it "down there" once and make it accessible for all your needs. I personally used a short length of 16g insulated copper wire as "fish tape". I removed the side panels (tupperware) on the drivers side in order to see what I was doing as well as guide the...

    2020+ mirror turn signals

Yes, finally available! Just ordered 2 sets, glad I already installed the fuse blocks. I think that should do it for LED's! Installed the fender running/sequential turn signal lights, saddlebag side marker lights, afterburner tail/brake sequential turn signal lights, Aframe running, turn signal...

Planning next trip WI, MN, ND, SD, & maybe MT - any good riding maps?

I agree! We recently moved from West Salem, Wi. Just NE of La Crosse. There was an article recently in Road Runner magazine about one the rides through the area, they went right past our house on county rd c on their way to Trempealeau. The driftless region is beautiful, maybe ride on up to the...

Compare a 500 mile ride on a Spyder with same on 2 wheels?

As several others have stated, it does take some time to adjust, relax and ride the machine. We both struggled on our first few rides, my wife actually did better than I did, she's much more chill than I am! I'm not sure a short test ride would have changed my mind or sealed the deal, I'm glad...

Big time backlog at Elka ..? Anyone else experienced this??

just placed an order with lamonster garage for front and rear Elka's for our 2020 RT's. Had a heck of a time (payment), probably due to recent geological relocations! Hoping for a day here and there without major downpours, if not we'll wait for spring/summer. Can't complain, it's really green...

What mirror vibration fix works the best?

1+ for the Lamonster's kit, his instructional video is highly recommended as well.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I agree, not leaning towards the ECU flash either. We had hoped to get a bit more time in the saddle and tweak the levels a bit, if the weather cooperates we'll get there! Yeah, when it hit Performance +, as they say up nort (the UP) Holy Buckets! We stayed in Quinault last sat/sun, should not...

which model Spyder is the most comfortable for long rides

I couldn't agree more, that's why I modified the saddles on our KLR's back in the day. Mine had a Corbin on it when I bought it, was horrible! Fortunately, I had access to a pressure mapping system and created the base while my wife is quiet the seamstress and manufactured a waterproof 4 way...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Pedal Command.... Agreed, lots of adjustability/flexibility, best/easiest mod so far with the greatest impact for riding comfort/control. After we installed them (first ride), i made a big mistake and advanced the setting to sport + while trying to turn it off, basically the throttle turns in to...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Forgot to mention the storage mods. Really like the mesh pocket for the frunk lid as well as the frunk and saddlebag luggage.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

pretty much got everything on the list completed on both RT's. Last weekend rode to the Cascade Mountains, aprox 300 miles was great, still getting used to three wheels for sure. Decided to add an F4 shield, taller and wider for myself, Julie is ok with the stock shield. Heading to Quinault, WA...

Dilemma - looking for comfort improvements??

I'm a bit of a newb to the forum and Spyders. We were contemplating about which handlebar would work better for us, shoulder and wrist pain from the original/stock RT. We decided on the Helibars, no regrets at all.. For the seat, I ordered an airhawk cruiser LG, Julie still had her original...

    Let's not forget, tomorrow 9/11

I was at home, my wife called me, told me to turn on the news, we were under attack. I turned on the news, I'll never forget that time in my life. I don't think we ever will. The pain I felt was just fraction of what our families and friends in New York were experiencing
