• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone have a toy hauler for a Spyder RT?

We have been researching RVs and toy haulers since making an RV trip with the in-laws in Sept. of 2019. After spending a LOT of time on Facebook RV pages, I have found what I think is nearly the perfect floor plan in a TH. It's the Heartland Torque T333 that is a little shy on closet space...

Review: A Word of Caution about Tricled Fender Lighting Mods

This is why I trust my own wiring plans rather than rely on some "kit" from a company that may or may not be aware of the space limitations involved on every machine they provide lighting kits for.

Buying my first Spyder Have some questions.

Spend some time here studying the pros and cons. You may find out the niggly little cons (and there are a bunch of them) are not worth the headaches they bring with them. If I had researched more thoroughly in 2017, I might never have bought a Spyder of any year. They are the premier example...

Extra fuel idea - what do you think?

"The floorboards are certainly strong enough to hold 3 pounds of fuel on each side." Gasoline weighs roughly 6lbs/gallon, but that still should not be an issue seeing as how most passengers put their full weight on those floorboards when mounting and dismounting. If they can take that, 6...

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

:gaah: alright! Got body panels out of the way only to discover the parking brake pulley was broken. Anyone have a spare laying around before I have to shell out a bunch of $$$$$$ to get this and a new cable? I'm prolly gonna need some shop manual instructions on how to properly align said...

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

Quick update; I got the caliper bracket properly aligned and now need to find a video of how to replace the cable. I have one ordered from the dealer in Amarillo. They are hoping to have word on availability by Friday. I'll be removing body panels over the next couple of days so there is time...

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

This one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVA8Uz2zzK4 I guess that was actually the second one. JSRT pointed out I have another part out of position that may likely have ruined my cable. Gonna have to dig a little deeper and do a little more work.

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

I was wondering about that, but it was not mentioned by anyone earlier. My lack of pictures didn't help any. Will take a closer look now that you mentioned it. thanks.

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

I'm still a bit concerned about how the cable has pulled loose between the thick part and the skinny part. Even lost a portion of the skinny white part that I had to cut away because it was all balled up where it tore away from the metal part.

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

UtahPaete; home run on that first video. I was trying to get the pads seated too far in. I also noticed there was no rear spring to contend with, so I went that route as well. My next problem is what happened to the parking brake cable on that first test ride a few days ago. I'll post a...

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

OK, now I'm really confused. My rear brakes have a spring clip in the rear not the front that is very difficult to keep in place. Once partially in the outboard pad stops like it's jammed against the caliper somehow but it certainly will not just drop in place. I'll try to give you a call...

having trouble getting rear brake pads in place

I did an advance search and have read at least 6 threads on brakes, but none offered a good description, video or pictures of how to get brake pads in place after the piston is compressed back into the caliper while holding the spring in place. Any advice out there from seasoned DIY folks...

What Loud Horns are available for Spyders?

I've used both a Nautilus Stebel and the WoLo Bad Boy horns on bikes with great satisfaction. Our Spyder had the WoLo on it when we bought it and the 130db from those and the Nautilus will get you that "man's horn".

Brake fluid flush cost - yikes! Does this sound right?

Just FYI, a high quality pneumatic bleeder will cost you around 225 to 250 at NAPA. That's ~half the cost your dealer quoted you add in the parts & brake fluid and you still get out cheaper than the dealer quoted and you have a durable tool that can be used on every brake job in the future.

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

Ours was in the fall of 2017 after I realized my reactions and strength were no longer optimal for riding two-up on a motorcycle (at age 63 and very short-legged). That was the result of a very slow speed tip over in a tight U-turn on one of the bikes on a trip where we had trailered one of the...

Should Tupperware be this far off

I'm a bit spoiled by the fit and finish of my BMW bikes, so if it were me, I'd tell the dealer get me a bike the fits together properly or no deal. Things like that never correct themselves and only get worse with time & miles. As long as consumers accept that kind of poor quality, the company...

A bit of a dilemma on parking brake issue

While I'm researching this problem, the Spyder seems to be OK with the parking brake not working except for the annoying beeping for a few seconds each time I stop and turn off the ignition. That leads me back to my original question, "will the nanny eventually detect an error and throw the...

Thinking of buying a Spyder, but have a lot of Questions - any help please?

After scanning quickly through all the answers so far, I can't add much other than the stock seat is by far the most comfortable I have ever straddled. Now, that's comparing it to all of the motorcycle seats I've ever sat on since 1968. This is my first Spyder (2014 RTL) and the initial ride...

A bit of a dilemma on parking brake issue

Didn't mess with the cable and had no left-over parts. I did struggle getting the pads to slip back over the disc but managed to align them with a flat screw-driver and had to use quite a bit of force to work the whole thing in place once I had it started.
