• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

is it ok to wear shorts driving a can am spyder?

They are acclimated. Don't know what air conditioning is. I sleep with one blanket in the winter with window open. The ink in the printer has frozen. Buff with AC blasting in the summer. Tried riding in summer while working at White Sands MR - 110 in the shade, 160 rising off pavement, engine...

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

Isn't anyone concerned about running their tank dry or at least to the point the fuel pump is high and dry. Running tank fuel pumps dry is supposed to increase wear. The fuel is a lubricant for them. Running them to where they are not submerged in fuel is also not supposed to be so good. They...

Total new guy, advice, comments requested

Wally... The class on the 24th will give you insight as to whether it is something for you or not. I suggest that you watch some motorcycle safety videos on youtube. While you won't have to unlearn (2) wheel stuff, you are probably lacking in safety awareness. A one day class is not going to...

    Michelin airless tires UPTIS

Would have to have sidewalls here. Without, it would fill in spots with snow, ice, rocks, and mud. Couldn't keep a balance. Hard enough to keep the stuff out of the rims. Regards, Don

    Michelin airless tires UPTIS

Guessing that they will have sidewall if they become available. Won't be able to tell the difference from inflatables. Perhaps you can load some air then to adjust for load. Regards, Don

    Front Sprocket Spline Failures

The anti seize that I referenced is an extreme high pressure lubricant designed for this type of application and more. It has an added benefit of anti seize properties and is extremely water proof. That is why the military uses it for all kinds of spline applications at sea and other extreme...

    Front Sprocket Spline Failures

I am guessing that you have never used this particular product. I have been using it for over 50yrs. I have a can of it that was my dad's that is over 40yo and it has not dried out. The lid hasn't been real tight on it either. I have used other anti-seize products that do dry out as you stated...

    Front Sprocket Failure

So I have been thinking about using this since the solution changed from locking things down. Just been waiting to do my rear tire change at the same time. Have had it around all my life as my dad was a navy and merchant marine, ship board maintenance electrician. Regards, Don BTW: Don't get...

Tire Pressure Argument for the 49th time

The 44psi marked on the tire is the MAXIMUM PRESSURE COLD. Pressure is mostly based on vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. That said, adjustments have to be made for vehicle weight, road conditions, load, etc... I run 18psi on my front Federal car tires. Putting a car tire on the back next...

    Shel Rotella T6

Does it meet specifications for both? I understand that the Ryker has different specifications than the Spyder because it does not have a wet clutch. Been using the T6 in my Diesel F350 and VW Golf TDI, along with motorcycles for years - 506K on the F350 and 245K so far on the TDI. Like the oil...

Should Be Able To Pull This With A Spyder!

The only reason I can see for the long tongue from structure on many motorcycle trailers, is so in the event of an unscheduled dismount, there is time to try and get out of the way of the trailer coming your way. Even with a tongue length this short from the front of the structure, it would take...

Should Be Able To Pull This With A Spyder!

And you can lock in a pre-sale price of $7.5k. Closer to affordable. They say a 5-7 month wait if I recall correctly. I just want a hard sided that I can legally pull into a rest stop and take a few hour snooze in. Can't do that with any of the popup/tent type trailers and the Idaho one is too...

Seeking Advice From Spyder Ryding Snowbirds

I have been looking around Truth or Consequences. I like the idea of having lakes in the area to do a little fishing. Lived in the RG valley outside Las Cruces for (4)yrs while working at White Sands MR. Had snow a couple of times, but could ride year round otherwise. Regards, Don

Seeking Advice From Spyder Ryding Snowbirds

Bert... While the Southeast sound like it has nice riding in the winter, I see a lot of post here complaining about the rainy days. I have decided to look for desert property in Arizona, New Mexico, or West Texas. Looking for 5-20 acres and don't care if I have power, or water. I have solutions...
