• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Towing

Pete... In Washington State, the tow dolly uses the dollied vehicles license plate and registration to be legally on the road. This requires the dollied vehicle to have one axel of wheels on the road during travel. When all of the dollied vehicle's wheels are off the ground, it is being...

    Motorcycle campers and the RT

Fishtailing as speed increases is mostly cause by not enough tongue weight to trailer weight ratio. Not aero dynamics. https://www.facebook.com/diplyhumor/videos/822698707871734/?t=29 Regards, Don

    Make your own accessories!

Jimmy...3D printing has sure come a long way in the last 25 years. Fun stuff. 3D computer modeling has been the favorite part of my jobs for over 30 years. Working on a custom trunk and trailer hitch assembly for my F3T - final run on hitch will be metal. Regards, Don

    175-55-15 vrs 165-55-15

Mike... You seem to underestimate the difference a 6% larger contact patch can make when it comes to PSI (pressure) on the road, and the area that water has to be dispersed from under the tire to prevent hydroplaning. Given standard variables it is probably more like 2-3%. But hey, you were...

    175-55-15 vrs 165-55-15

The 175 is .39" wider and the sidewall is .215" taller. So there could be a slight hydroplaning and sidewall flex disadvantage with the 175. Some might consider more sidewall flex an advantage. But that depends on driving style. Regards, Don

Racks to Givi Outback top case and tubular racks to side cases to F3-T

Duarte... Arrows point to the side case mounting plates on an F3T. Also, you will probably have issues with the electrical/electronic system. The tail/brake lights are mounted in the side cases. The side case latch is also connected to the electrical system and sends a code to the dash when it...

Finally got to ride one after a decade...

Wait till you dive into a turn at 70mph, throw your weight while you crack the throttle and turn your wheels back, as you drift the rear around the corner. Just like ol Doc Hudson! More fun than doing it in the Jeep on dirt or the Audi on the snow/ice. Regards, Don

Best security option for city street parking

The more deterrents you have, the longer, and in the case of using a cutting wheel to disable, the louder. No "gone in 60 seconds" having to cut loose and drag onto a trailer. Especially if you also have the front brake lock and are using the steering lock. Lots of noise to hopefully attract...

    Mandatory motorcycle insurance in Washington

True - However in Washington State, when an out of State vehicle is involved in an accident with a WS resident, the resident can demand that authorities impound the out of stater's vehicle until the owner can provide proof of equal or greater than WS min liability insurance or post a bond to...

Best security option for city street parking

Keep it covered to help keep people off of it. For security, I would put in a concrete filled, thick steel, mailbox post at the curb and use a quality chain/cable to lock the Ryker to it. Could wrap around pole when not in use. If I couldn't do that, I would try to getaway with a buried block...

    Preppers

The big issue with generators for me is the cost and availability of fuel. The larger generators use gals per hour. The little Honda is more like a quart. In a subterranean concrete vault the noise isn't much of an issue. Even less with the very quiet Honda. Only have to run it (1) day out of...

    Preppers

There are books on the subject. Too much info needed to put down here. As for electricity, I live rural and mine has been out for as long as (3) weeks, and I can expect at least (1) 3-7 day outage every year. I have (3) generators. From experience, I'll tell you that running them is very...

    Dainese Airbag Jacket

I do too. However from the video, it looks to me like it is lacking a great deal in the protection and support that my daughter's Hit Air vest has. Hers blows up around the neck, locking the neck and shoulders with the helmet. It also drops down around the tail bone and top of hips when...

    drivers license

Mikey... I see you asking if you can take your "drivers license" test on a can am. I Washington State you cannot. You have to take your "drivers license" test in a motor vehicle. Motorcycles are not classified as a motor vehicle in Washington. The "drivers license" test covers several rules of...

    Self driving autos in FL!

They have been available the whole time and evolving. Most just failed to buy them as they have been very expensive to buy and operate. Closer now than ever before to being affordable, and they are electric. AV and remote control drones are currently filling taxi and delivery roles, in a few...

    Self driving autos in FL!

Admittedly most of the trials are in the south, so snow is not an issue yet. With 5G communication, snow won't be an issue in any city unless the vehicle is out of its element. Cheap transmitters are coming to every intersection, in every city. All AI vehicles are also going to talk with each...

    Self driving autos in FL!

That is not true. All deaths and injuries world wide have been taken into account for the current statistics. AV are running about 3x safer for deaths per millions of miles driven than human driven. The nice thing about AV is that the accident can be analyzed and programming can be updated on...

    Self driving autos in FL!

At over a half billion miles logged in the USA, AVs already been proven to be safer than human drivers per million miles driven. Vehicles are being tested in multiple cities that don't even have a driver's seat or a steering wheel. As AVs get even better, insurance is going to sky rocket for the...

    TOWING WITH A CAR DOLLY

Disconnecting the belt from the rear sprocket is a quick and simple job. I think you could just tie it out of the way and not have to remove it. I wouldn't worry about wheel bearings, though some have said here that they shouldn't be spun without belt tension. Not sure why as I don't see them as...

is it ok to wear shorts driving a can am spyder?

You hit the pavement at 70mph. From that moment you are slowing, so you don't travel the 102.6 in a second. Good jeans can make it through to the stop. Been there, done that. I didn't say they "do that out of being acclimated to it." My insinuation was that they can tolerate doing it because...
