• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

WELL I HAD A FIRST YESTERDAY MORNING

On my Goldwing once, I hit a pheasant. First it hit the windshield and then my helmet. I had a sore neck for a week. The pheasant didn't have any long term aches or pains due to his lack of life after this incident.

    Veerubber tires

My dealer has had so many issues with short life on the Kenda that he is going to start stocking the Veerubber touring tires. I will be having mine put on in the next couple of weeks. I think it will be a good choice.

9500 service.... $350.00 for an oil change??

Anyone that has had their Harley serviced by their Harley dealer would not think that $250 to $300 dollars was out of line for a complete service. Goldwings, on the other hand, are much less expensive until you need to have the valves checked and adjusted. That service only happens at about...

Front end shake .. for no reason.

On a 2012, maybe it is time for "A" arm bushings. My service manager told me that when it starts to shake, it is time for bushings. On my 2012, they were a little loose but never cause a problem. Mine only had 14000 miles, however.

Front end shake .. for no reason.

I have had the same luck (good) with beads. The ones I used were almost as fine as dust. Worked well. Only a few blocks got everything balanced.

Front end shake .. for no reason.

My 2012 RT-L did this when I had new front tires installed. The problem was that they put all of the weights on the inside edge of the rim. The tire was balanced in a static state (single plane) but not dynamically (dual plane). Balancing is an art that many tire techs don't really understand...

    Help Check Engine Light On

The oil level on these machines is not that fussy. What you are checking is the amount of oil in the tank. Unless that level was really low and causing low oil pressure, a 1/2 cup won't make any difference in the way it runs and/or shifts. The oil tank is a just a reservoir.

    D.E.S.S. experiment

I talked to the service manager at my dealer last night and he is going to order the latest module to replace the the updated one installed earlier. I have had seven failures since May 5th. All were cleared using the ignition cycling process so never left stranded. We will see how it goes with...

Things you might not know, please add to this list. (RT Series)

This list is an interesting idea. However, much of what is here is "me too" and not really relavent to your original intent. Are you going to try and consolidate the information into a functional list ? It could be some good info.

Looking for advice on adding highway pegs.

I put RIVCO mounts on my 2014 RT-S. They look good, mount easily, are strong with great adjustability. I bought them from a Minnesota accessories supplier and got free shipping. You would also avoid sales tax. Both are significant expenses on something as heavy and expensive as these are.

Is there something wrong with my Spyder?????

We have a similar problem here in southern Minnesota. From my house to one of our local coffee shops is about 30 miles each way as the crow flies. On a motorcycle of any kind, it seems to be well over 150 miles round trip. We have studied it many times and just cannot figure out where the...

    D.E.S.S. experiment

Well, today I started the Spyder three times. Two of the three were good. One included a D.E.S.S. code. Oh well, it was good for about 29 of 30 starts. When I got the code, cycling the ignition brought it back to life, it started and I went on my way. :gaah:

    D.E.S.S. experiment

I don't know how to identify the orientation but what I did was to pull the key out of the ignition after cycling the ignition and successfully starting and running the bike. I marked the key so that I could reinsert it with the same orientation as it had when I removed it.

    D.E.S.S. experiment

No bubbles involved. I realize that this is less than scientific but, it is at least something that for me, seems to be providing some relief from the problem and, it seems to be at least as effective as anything else posted to date on any other thread. Those that think BRP should disable the...

    D.E.S.S. experiment

Two more starts yesterday, five starts todays. Still no D.E.S.S. issues. I hope it continues.

    D.E.S.S. experiment

I have never tried the second key. At this point, I don't want to introduce any additional variables. If I can get many more restarts without the problem, I will try the other key and see what it does. It would be really nice if the problem didn't happen again but, the jury is still out.

    D.E.S.S. experiment

Mine had the system replaced when the dealer still owned it. It was replaced because of a tech bulletin and not due to failure. It failed with the new parts and after I owned it for a few weeks. It always started when I did the ignition cycling drill.

    D.E.S.S. experiment

I almost hate to post this but, I have experimented with something that has to date proven successful. To me it doesn’t necessarily make sense but here goes. I have had the D.E.S.S. code four times since the 8th of May. Three of those four occurred within 24 hours of each other on May 25th and...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning I was reading a long term test on a new Nissan Maxima. Guess what they are having a problem with? They tried reprogramming the keys and it didn't work. It is causing problems with starting, unlocking the doors, etc. We apparently are not alone with this issue.
