• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vee Rubber VTR-350 Arachnid Touring Rear Tire

Have you been running the Touring or standard rear tires?

Vee Rubber VTR-350 Arachnid Touring Rear Tire

It is really hard to find out how long the touring version has been out but, it looks as if they were released to the public earlier this year. As I said, it is really hard to tell if this info is correct or not. Either way it is of no consequence.

    Oil Dipstick

I scuffed mine up with a Scotch Brite Pad. Cleaned it good. It helps but it is still hard to read.

    Newbe think about RT-Limited questions

I did not intend to imply that the Spyder is not a good decision. I really don't care about the cost of normal maintance. I don't like to have to do repairs due to poor design. I am on my second Spyder and would not go back to two wheels for anything. I try to ride at least 50 miles per day and...

Vee Rubber VTR-350 Arachnid Touring Rear Tire

Mine is the touring version of the Arachnid. They haven't been out very long so I would be surprised if there was much real life information available as yet. If we can actually get some wear on the outside, I can work with that and adjust.

    Tire Rotation

If you just move the tire and rim from one side to the other, you are not doing anything. The outside is still the outside and the inside is still the inside. Dismounting and remounting will generally not do anything but cause grief. Tires do not dismount and remount very well. Chances are that...

    Newbe think about RT-Limited questions

The price of an oil change kit is crazy. Especially if you consider that they give you extra expensive oil that you don't need. Also, if you pay to have it done, you will pay additional labor because of body panel removal. Still, these are toys and toys can be expensive and harder to work on. My...

Vee Rubber VTR-350 Arachnid Touring Rear Tire

It balanced with 1 1/2 ounces. It also seems to be very round and the tread seems to run straight. No feeling of wondering at all due to the tread pattern wondering as I have had on some tires (Continental) on my Goldwings in the past. From: trikermutha I recommend 30 PSI..It doesn't wear the...

Vee Rubber VTR-350 Arachnid Touring Rear Tire

Last week I had an Arachnid rear tire put on my 2014 RT-S. So far it is working very well and I would recommend it to anyone that wants something different from the OEM Kenda. I have nothing against the original Kenda but, I would like to have had it last longer. I have no idea why BRP would...

    Would this work

No. Not wide enough. Mine is 76 inches wide and gives me some extra width. Even the narrow spyers are almost 5 feet wide.

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the latest D.E.S.S. installed today. (the second replacement for this bike) The part was ordered by my dealer somewhere around June 20th. It was at my dealers within a few days. So far, it has started the bike about 15 times and all is well. I also had a new VeeRubber Touring tire...

    Biuld quality

:agree: with the above completely. QA is a management issue that defines the requirements. QC is the the method that checks to see if the QA requirements are being met. After 40 years of dealing with QA and QC, I feel that QC is pretty much worthless. The problem however, is seldom the people...

Strange issue - fast idle and difficult 1st/Reverse gear selection?

It would have to be really, really, really low to have and effect on shifting. It would have to be low enough to cause low oil pressure. The oil tank is just a reservoir. If there is enough to hold oil pressure, there is enough to function. That said, low oil is still not a good idea.

    1330 SE clutch info

As you are well aware, this is a wet clutch and I am sure the oil cushion on the plates is much greater when the oil is cold. I don't notice a lot of difference based on temp but I am also very easy on the motor until it comes up to temp.

    Biuld quality

This is not poor QC. It is poor assembly line processing and/or poor assembly (either is usually a management issue). Quality is determined by comparing the quality that management expects from their product assembly lines to what they actually get. If management only expects 75% of the...

    Biuld quality

Yes but, they shouldn't have to. It should be correct from the factory. This is a big reason my Harley UC found a new home.

    Excessive Loctite

If you have ever owned a Harley or other bike that shakes a lot you would understand why there is so much interest in not having the bolts come loose. BRP seems to have gone overboard but, they typically don't fall apart. When my Ultra Classic was still almost new, I took it back to the dealer...

Is there something wrong with my Spyder?????

Thus far only one. I just got it yesterday.

Is there something wrong with my Spyder?????

Today, I studied the problem in detail once again. Per Bing Maps, my favorite Kawasaki dealer is 30.4 miles from my home. That should equate to about 61 miles round trip. I tried it and my ODO showed 140.2 miles. I will keep looking to try and find out what the real problem is. On a side note...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have done the cycling thing (5 times on then off) on each of the eight failures my bike has experienced. It worked first time and every time except one. That time it took a bit longer but, it did work. My dealer is replacing the DESS module next week. I hope to have the issue resolved with the...
