• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Said goodbye today...

To MR. Cooper. AKA Cooper T. Cat. Coops was 15 years old. He had been on hyperthyroid medication for about two months. Just suddenly last Friday he began to go down hill very fast. Took him to an emergency vet on Sunday. She felt he was having a reaction to the medication. His RBC was at 13 when...

    Another Spyder F3 Shock comment

I have the F3S as well. I have to be very careful going over RR tracks, dips in the road etc. I weigh in at 230 so when I get on mine it drops considerably.

    T-boned yesterday.

Doesn't always work. I was sitting at a light in a double right turn. That is two lanes make the right turn. I was on the inside lane, a lady in a cage was in the outside lane next to me. I was on my Vulcan, wife was behind me on her Spyder. The lady looked directly at me and my bike as we were...

    License Plate on F3

If the plate does not line up with the factory mounting holes you have to use self tapping sheet metal screws. My plate doesn't line up. Dealer put in cheap screws that didn't hold. I have an assortment of screws on hand so I was able to fix mine.

    Exhaust Pipe Springs

I use a headlight spring tool to remove and reinstall. Some people use heavy string looped around a screwdriver handle. I prefer the tool.

I also have the Wiredux brake/turn LEDs on the rear. Oh, almost forgot, I have the A arm strips too. I have the F3S...

    Still Kicking

I have PAT. Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia. Have had it for years. Episodes have become less frequent. In fact, one woke me up last night. First one in a few months.

    Recurring limp home mode

Just saw this. A few reasons. #1- BRP would cover the throttle body itself, but not the labor to replace it. #2- Her windshield arm broke on the trip too. BRP would not cover the replacement of the actuator since it was out of warranty. #3- The wife refused to drive the bike back home even if it...

    heart condition

I'm intrigued by your description of your cardiac diagnosis. VF is used to describe ventricular fibrillation. Not a weak heart muscle. VF is why your doctor wants you to wear the WCD (wearable cardiac defibrillator). I would definitely discuss this with your cardiologist. Those WCDs can deliver...

    Sweet time Thursday

Kris and I met some friends Thursday morning at the range. We spent about 1.5 hours throwing some lead down range. I had the opportunity to shoot this little beauty. Talk about fun. Loud as all heck, very little kick. We used the 30 round magazine. It has a really nice laser dot scope that you...

    Recurring limp home mode

That's the same thing that started happening on my wife's 2010 RTS. And we were 700 miles from home. It finally went into permanent limp mode. It was the throttle body. She ended up with a 2014 RTS for the trip home.

Around town trips would be ok. It would not be practical for cross country trips.

Tesla does use a drive system from a US based company. However, some of their vehicles are assembled in the US, Denmark and the UK.

    F3 Electric Concept Vehicle

yes. These are all "potential energy" sources. With the sources you listed, they all have to be "burned" to produce energy. A battery stores potential energy. Nuclear systems require "fission" to produce heat to create steam to run turbines.

    F3 Electric Concept Vehicle

Well, I'm not sure. I guess it depends on what batteries they are using and what type of charger, voltage input to the charger. Obviously, 220V chargers will work better. I have worked with 220V, 440 three phase and 120V chargers. Most of these on lead acid battery systems. Lithium batteries...

170 kilometer range = 106 miles. Just shy of 998 mileage. I'm glad they are at least working the concept. Batteries for these type applications have come a long way in the last few years in reliability, durability, heat management and recharge time. Solid state batteries are getting a lot of...

Do any of our sponsered vendors....

Check with your state DMV. in NC you can get "veteran" on your DL with a DD214 as proof. Even though I have a retired ID, I still had veteran put on my DL. There are several web sites that show businesses that give military discounts. Here is one http://militarybenefits.info/military-discounts/...
