• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Dynabeads made my balance worse

Sigh. Looking for opinions on what next. 10 days or so ago I changed the rear tire to a Falken. I took the wheel off myself and a few mistakes / swear words, I got the wheel and new tire to the local tire shop. The local tire shop did not have the correct adapter / tool to balance the tire...

    Checking rear tire pressure

Maybe a dumb comment but since no one else has mentioned it... The toolkit that came with my GS has a compact digital gauge that fits pretty well. David

    Two more weeks!

I'm not in the area but I will be driving the Spyder up to Tyler this weekend to see family. I am usually on four wheels but I drive through Mineola at least a couple times a year on my way to my uncle's in Alba. Congrats, David

    Tires

Where are you seeing negative reports on the Falken for the rear? In my research everybody seemed quite positive.

Adventures in tire replacement and now how do I tension the belt?

I think maybe the lightbulb went on, the shock maybe was in tension, not compression when I jacked it up all the way. That would explain what I saw and why it worked for everyone else. Problem is I have that el cheapo harbor freight lift and it is very difficult to raise and lower the spyder...

Adventures in tire replacement and now how do I tension the belt?

So I attempted to follow Lamonster's video on wheel removal where you did not have to re-tension the belt but it did not work out like I hoped. I broke the axle nut and the lower shock nut free on the ground then lifted the whole bike just in front of the swing arm pivot. When I got it in the...

    NOT THE NANNY UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Read the code. 1. Put in the key and turn it on. 2. Press mode button until you see "hours" displayed. 3. Press and hold both buttons on both handle bars 4. Toggle the momentary bright light button five times rapidly (must be done within two seconds). If you fumble, release the buttons and...

    Sunday Lunch Ride Rosenburg

Roughly what time would your arrival be? I'm thinking about coming from Pearland but I would meet you there. Noonish? David

Stupid: installed my rear brake disc backwards

Finally catching a break... After walking away and doing something else for an hour I came back to a Spyder reporting no error codes. It does make a click noise once on each front side when I apply brakes. But I do not know if that is "normal" or not because I usually ride with a helmet and...

Stupid: installed my rear brake disc backwards

Thanks for the response... Air gap looks good to me and wiring has no apparent problems. So do you replace the tire without removing the hub / crush tube assembly? I was attempting to follow Lamonster's video on rear tire replacement and it appears he removes all that stuff. Will double...

Stupid: installed my rear brake disc backwards

Yeah, go ahead and laugh. It was late, it was dark, I was tired. I was changing my rear tire and I put the brake disc on backwards (with the toothed side facing in towards the wheel). I of course immediately got a VSS / limp home fault before I got to the end of the street. I took it back...

Did I miss the boat on the 02 modifier?

Ok, stupid question time... As I understand it, you connect the autotune and it logs data from your bike about what the "perfect" map would be for your riding conditions would be. After a while you then manually download the map from the Autotune then manually upload it to the PCV. After...

    The donut run...

You're lucky you did not get pulled over with hot donut fumes trailing your Spyder like that. I think that is a class C misdemeanor in most states, reckless endangerment of donuts.... David

Anyone linked Scala Rider G9 to non traditional 2 way Blue Tooth?

It really depends on how the Yaesu is set up... When you say bluetooth enabled, does that mean you can use a bluetooth headset to talk via the radio? Or does it mean you can hook up a bluetooth phone to your radio and answer and make calls on your phone with your radio mic and speakers? If the...

Tire change help please. Does this have to come off?

I'm assuming that ride-on / Dynabeads is an either / or thing, not both right? I'm trying to decide which to use.

    Wheel bearing average longevity

Just did it this morning... I'm not saying it is impossible to get an old tire off and and a new tire on with all that stuff still mounted but it would be in the way for every tire changing machine I have seen. You do need two 15mm sockets to get the hub off. Hint if you are as dumb as me...

Tire change help please. Does this have to come off?

So I took it in to a car tire place to have it mounted and balanced. They initially said no problem but then the called me back and said they cannot balance it because their spindle was too big. So I now have a mounted but not balanced tire. And it appears the nearest "motorcycle" shop is 30...

Tire change help please. Does this have to come off?

Does that strange retainer holding the beating in have to come off for a tire change? I got the hub off and I think that is as far as I have to go before taking it to a tire shop for mount and balance. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
