• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pin out for that 6 pin Diagnostic connector?

I finally got the parts to start reverse engineering the BUDS protocol and I can't seem to find the pin assignments for the 6 pin Buds connector and the service PDF is going slower than christmas for some reason. Does anybody know / have the pinout for that 6 pin connector? I think CAN Hi is...

Beaumont ride on Saturday 26 Jan meetup in Pearland Texas

I got to much going on to make the trip but I might try to meet up just to say hello and meet a few folks. You are meeting about 2 miles from my house. David Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2

Anyone have contact info for Texas Tripod?

A few months ago Texas Tripod posted some Spyder items for sale. I expressed interest and told him I would get back to him. Well I have not been able to get a response either from posts or private messages. I have an errand that is going to take me within a few miles of his city this weekend...

    STRANGE NOTICE ON DASH

No code reader that is designed for cars / OBDII will work on the Spyder. You have to have BUDS or there is an aftermarket guy selling something quite expensive to read the codes. I'm piddling with building my own code reader but no progress yet. David

    DPS and winter ryding

Yeah, I drew on my extensive cold weather riding experience :). I think the coldest temperature I have seen since I bought the Spyder is 70F.

    DPS and winter ryding

You aren't going to get an absolute answer that at X degrees the steering will work. It is a known issue that a sensor will kill power steering when a certain sensor drops below a certain temperature. So the best course of action is: Ride cautious when it is cold. Leave yourself extra...

Fall is here! Fall is here!

Woo hoo, definitely the absolute best riding weather so far this season started this last weekend. Went from high's in the mid 90's and heat index at 105 to highs in the high 80's with much lower humidity. I love the first commute when I am actually a little chilly... It's wonderful. Down...

It might cost you some extra money but why not order from Honda East Toledo and have them shipped to your dealer? David

    Dynabeads made my balance worse

Got an answer from DynaBeads support that actually makes sense: Excessive lube on the bead of the tire. I should have thought of this before I shoved the beads in but I did not. The guy who changed my tire used a lot of lube, left thick gobs of it on the outside of the tire so I can only...

Pearland Texas car show tonight 7 Sept 2012

Finally one close, convenient, and on a weekend night. I have to take my cat to the vet at 5pm right down by Lowe's but I bet I could be back there around 7-7:30pm. Bike is really dirty from heading to Tyler last weekend though but I buy them to ride, not to show. Maybe I can rinse it off...

    Heat deflector

Just in case you weren't aware, you have the authority (and heck of a nice guy) on Spyder heat management in the same state as you. His name is Harvey Clark but he goes by "Spyderpops". A quick google search will turn him up. He is a site sponsor and has a shop near Hot Springs. Look him up...

It's in the manual but here goes again: 1. Turn on the key. 2. Press the left hand button to acknowledge the startup warning thing and keep pressing it until hours are displayed on the dash 3. Press and hold both the left and right buttons 4. Toggle the high beam flashers 5 times quickly...

    Dynabeads made my balance worse

Realize two things though: 1 that explanation is entirely a work of educated guessing of someone totally unqualified (me) 2 I can't explain why my situation got worse with the beads. I am going to email dynabeads and see if I can get any suggestions from them. Sent from my GT-N7000 using...

    Dynabeads made my balance worse

I have resigned myself that I have to pull the tire, dump the beads, and get a conventional balance. In my particular area, there are plenty of automotive tire shops but the nearest cycle shop is about 30 minutes away. So what got me in this mess in the first place is the tire shop did not...
