• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    vibration at speed

I felt the same on/off vibration when I hit 62 MPH. I had the extremely well built made in Japan BRP idler installed and 24,000 miles later it still works fine. I am considering having it replaced at the 28,000 mile service only because they warranty both the idler and the belt and its so...

    ATGATT

What a waste of a good helmet. You could have saved that helmet by leaving it in the closet. This is why I never wear a helmet. Good money wasted.

    Tires and wear bars

I prefer tire manufacturers. I also consider people with engineering credentials in this specific field. Both of these groups do the actual field testing that ensures traction for a particular product, in this case a Spyder. Considering I have never had issues with my Kenda tires I'll stick...

    Tires and wear bars

I average 13,000 on the rear Kenda tire and still going strong at 25,000+ on the front Kenda tires. Hydroplaning (for me) occurred when the tires were new so tread depth meant nothing for this lightweight machine. My attitude.....replace if in doubt. I pushed replacing a tire on another bike...

Summer house cleaning....to suck or blow?

Bug removal spray? Now that I think about it..... What if after doing the suck/blow thing could I have sprayed a dead bug removal spray to soften up the tougher carcasses?

Summer house cleaning....to suck or blow?

Decided today to clean my F3s radiators from all the bug debris. My F3s has about 25,000 trouble free miles on it.....and want it to stay that way. I was undecided whether I could suck out the dead bugs with my wet/dry vacuum or blow them out with my compressor. I found doing both was best. I...

    Going Blind....not really

I agree with you. Lots of advice on this thread that basically details different ways to wear corrective lenses. I even tried riding with a magnifying glass and nearly crashed.

    Fuel

In the winter I put the expensive stuff cause my bike might sit longer but in the summer I put the cheap stuff cause my bike never sits at all. Never had a problem.

    Going Blind....not really

Voice GPS commands are out of the question. My hearing is dismal and I wear ear plugs to protect what's left. I tried voice commands and "she" couldn't yell load enough so I shut it off. I like to ride in unknown territory and like looking at the map but its difficult to see the finer digits...

    Cleaning the flat black F3

I use a wax less shampoo on my matt/shiny black F3s. Works like a charm. DO NOT PUT WAX OR POLISH ON A MATT PAINT JOB!

    F3-S rear shock

My personal experience with foreign companies is to stay away if they do not know how to easily sell/warranty their wares. If the transaction is this difficult now can you imagine customer service or warranty issues? Too many north American companies offer wonderful products to deal with...

    Going Blind....not really

Currently I wear 1.25 mag reading glasses. My Garmin GPS sits on a ramline ball mount on my F3s. If I wear my reading glasses the GPS is crystal clear but the road is blurry. If I don't wear my reading glasses the GPS is blurry but the road is clear. Other then going with bi-focal glasses are...

    Checking your equipment

About 10 years ago I bought a vulcanizing tire repair kit and stored it in my bike. While on an MC trip a few days ago while gassing up a rider came in and said he had a flat. Finally! (I thought) I would get a chance to open the sealed package and test my tire repair kit. Long story...

    Americade is dead

Americade Inc. Americade became great because simple people/bikers showed up and wanted to enjoy each others company. Everything you wrote about is the commercialization I detest. In your opinion you had a great time because you PAID to do so. I have not attended Americade for 22 years...

    Americade is dead

Rode up to Americade to spend the weekend gazing at the bikes, looking at some venders, eating great food and enjoying good MC conversations. I have been attending Americade for the last 22 years and its been going dowhill the last ten years. Too much commercialization of what used to be a...
