• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Any suggestions on Keeping Warm?

All of my clothing is Gortex. Designed for severe outdoor use. No armor and happy as can be. Besides....the amount of layers I have are in a way armor. Since I don't wear armor in the summer its a non-issue for me. Since I woke up the fallacy of MC gear I now find the best clothing made...

    Guided tours by BRP

You posted something Spyder specific in a Spyder specific forum and didn't realize you would receive critical comments? Seriously? How do you know anyone here has not done one of these paid rides or know of someone who did? My opinion comes from both research and I know several friends who did...

So you really really want to ride this winter?

At least he's wearing both body armor and a body bag. The morgue will appreciate saving on the cost of a body bag.

    Guided tours by BRP

Not about to pay someone for something I can do myself for free. All you need to complete a fun trip is.... 1. Research a trip/route and enter that data into your GPS. 2. Find someone to join you. 3. Pack and leave.

    Any suggestions on Keeping Warm?

I found the best winter gear to be the stuff sold for mountaineering. Stay away from anything that is for motorcycling, they want more $$$$$ and give you crap in return. Get the stuff that's waterproof, breathable and hurricane proof. My Cabelas "guide wear" jacket is the BOMB over a nice down...

Installation cost for Baja Ron Sawy Bar

https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?115717-30-000-mile-review-sweet-n-simple&highlight=30%2C000+mile+review Read my 30,000 mile review. My dealer charged me a lousy $106.00 bucks to install and worth the chump change.

    0 to 60 times for se6

ECU Flash? No thanks. Too many issues develop when you play with the brain (PC) of anything. Too many people I know that "play" with their "brain" end up regretting it then restoring it. My thoughts

My stock rear tire at 10300 miles

Looks like your Kenda tire is doing great. I average 13,000 before I replace them. Remember...a softer better gripping tire will wear faster.

    0 to 60 times for se6

To get an accurate 0-60 I would have needed both a chronometer and someone at both the start and finish lines. Since I do not have a chronometer, a test track and people to accurately time my ride I cant truthfully answer your question. What I can say is that in the last 34,000 miles I have...

    How much to ask?

My two cents.... 1. Consider half your money already gone. 2. Put a price on it and see if you get bites and continuously lower it till you do. 3. Farkels adds NOTHING to its price but does add some incentive. 4. Is it under warranty? (a huge selling point). 5. A bottle of 100% proof liquor...

    OEM tires improved?

Nothing "odd" about hydroplaning. There is something "odd" about thinking reduced air pressure makes all tread the same or better. :banghead: I long for someone to post a credible citation on treads/weight ratio etc. Nobody can because all the "citations" show the weight ratio being...

    OEM tires improved?

Everybody here puts something different on their ride. You car tire enablers cant even agree on what's best. Until I see a citation from a reliable source on TRACTION I'll stick with my Kendas. Traction and feel are not the same thing.:banghead:

    OEM tires improved?

Extended range = lower cost (we agree) Lower cost = obviously lower cost (we also agree) Better handling = ??????? Braking distance? less grip on the road? slippage while cornering? (we now disagree) I'm sure a tire with less traction will allow for better turning but only because you are...

    Keeping spder under cover outside

Talking of mice. A friends Tri-Glide was stored in his shed for the winter. In the spring it was dead. Harley voided his warranty because they don't warranty mice damage to electrical wiring. $2,300 later he realized what those little critters can do.

    OEM tires improved?

Very true. I admit I was wrong. Also very true. I admit I was wrong, but in my defense by adding Rons sway bar I was giving up nothing in the way of safety. As far as car tires are concerned, I have had no issues with BRP Kenda tires though. Safety is a huge concern and the only reason I'm...

    OEM tires improved?

I average 13,000 in the rear Kenda tire and 27,000 on the front Kenda tires. I experience excellent traction, no flats and thus no reason to risk loss of traction. If it aint broke don't fix it. The geniuses on this thread talk mileage and never traction and that tells everything. Stay with...

    Weekend Ryde for Bob Denman

While drinking my coffee this morning I pondered over to Spyderlovers and read your thread. I looked up this event and decided to drive over and check it out. It was CROWDED and cost $10.00 to park and $2.00 to enter. It was nice but in reality it was an overpriced food fest. Not much else but...

    Belt Tensioner Pulley from Lamonster

If it aint broke don't fix it. If you don't think you need an idler don't install one. A "good mechanic" has nothing to do with the vibration issue, its because of the really long belt that generates the "harmonics". The vibration issue is experienced by everyone but most don't understand it or...

    Belt Tensioner Pulley from Lamonster

I purchased a new complete BRP idler and not just the spring. For the cost of purchase AND installation with the warranty also covering the belt its worth it.....in my opinion.
