• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    So it's called the Ryker!

Those tires don't look like the stock Kendas we're used to seeing. Maybe BRP is using a new OEM brand?

    New Spyder Line up 2019

I haven't heard anything. I got the email too, but I don't use Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat. Couldn't care less -- my Spyder is paid for!

What size auto tires is everyone running?

If you're really interested in the General Altimax RT43, Walmart sells them for about $80, and they don't get snippy about what vehicle you're mounting them on. And I have about 24K on mine (on a 2014 RT-S), and the wear indicator is dropping hints about replacement. The 215/60R15 size has the...

    Tires General Altimax Opservation

FYI: I continue this discussion in the Alabama state thread. My concerns are posted there; I prefer not to goober up this thread any more.

    Non-OEM tire installation?

Appreciate the feedback --really. However, I just re-looked at Finless Bob's video on RT rear wheel removal. It presumes a skill level I don't have. It also skips some key parts IMO (for example, he talks about getting ready to remove the rear axle; then presto! he jumps to having the...

    Non-OEM tire installation?

All above noted. I'm trying to avoid the investment in the jack and tools necessary to do a once-every-three-years task. I'm also quite aware that one can easily screw up the belt tension. I'd rather leave this to someone who knows what they're doing.

    Tires General Altimax Opservation

I don't have the necessary jack and tools. I'm trying to avoid making that investment for a task I may perform only every three years.

    Non-OEM tire installation?

Does anyone know of someone in the south-central (Montgomery area) who can mount a non-OEM tire on a Spyder? My former go-to guys (ISCI in Montgomery) no longer offer that service, and they admit they don't know of anyone else in the area. And my local dealer won't install a non-OEM tire. Thanks!

    Tires General Altimax Opservation

Aaaannnnddd..... that third-party shop I was relying on no longer offers this service. We chatted and he admitted he didn't know of anyone else in this area who could do this for me. I hope that doesn't mean I'm stuck with going to the dealer and getting another crappy Kenda. Update: I just...

How good and comfortable are Ultimate Seats ?

I still have the stock seat on my 2014 RT-S with a sheepskin pad. I can ride all day with only minor discomfort. But then, I think the feeling in my butt has been thoroughly neutralized by my previous 32 years on stock BMW seats. :p I have been looking at an Ultimate seat, mainly because they...

    Tires General Altimax Opservation

This is a serendipitous thread. I currently have the General Altimax RT 43 on my Spyder. It has 24,000 miles on it, and the wear indicator is saying "replace me." I've been running it at 22-24 psi. So I called the dealer today and asked if they would install another General for me; I even said...

How hard is it to add GPS

I'm also looking for a basic mount for a Garmin Nuvi. The cheapest/simplest system seems to be a dashboard mount from JT: http://spyderstore.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=60 It mounts the GPS up higher, more in your line of sight, than some others that mount lower, between the...

    This is belt vibration, right?

Slight vibration at 70-75 mph, under a slight load (as in going slightly uphill). Belt harmonics. I haven't noticed it lately, but I've likely grown to ignore it. I used to ride BMWs, and they had weird harmonics, so it didn't bother me. But when I put on aftermarket tires, a lot of handling...

    Car tire application website!

Click around on the ordering form. In my experience, there should be box to check that says "These are exact replacements for tires already on my vehicle" or something close. If you're looking for a rear tire, Walmart carries the General Altimax RT43 for $80. They don't ask silly questions.

Almost time for first service and need advice

Let the dealer do the first service. From what I recall from other threads, the oil drain plug was installed at the factory by the mighty Thor using his magic hammer. IOW, it's on real tight. If you strip it (and that's a real possibility from what I recall), the cost is on you. Let the...

My hay customer and I got scammed. Can anyone explain??

Check again with the cops, or perhaps your state police if you have such. Some cyber crimes are federal offenses. Another tack would be to contact your local newspaper or TV station. They might be interested in spreading the word on how these new types of crimes are easily pulled off. If...

    Help explaining Airline Charges

Write to your local Better Business Bureau. They get a lot of complaints about everything, so maybe they know a way to tickle the system. Make sure you tell them you were traveling due to a death in the family; that may open some doors. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper...
