• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

"the other site" - please explain the taboo

Director, I have spent the last hour or so looking for the thread also, it must have been deleted, as should be, IMHO. to the "other site" Admin and Mods for doing so. Thanks for your timely response.

"the other site" - please explain the taboo

I also am a member of both forums. Over time I found that I was gravitating more toward this site because of the reasons mentioned in previous posts. BUT -I don't actively participate in the other because of a thread there that was dissing Lamonster - they even have a derogatory nickname for...

    CB antenna tuning

If your bracket and truck mating surfaces are both painted the only metal to metal contact is where the screw threads go through the bracket and truck - not much. Try scraping the paint off where the star washers meet the bracket and truck so you have some bare metal contact, spray the area with...

    CB antenna tuning

Let's see if we can figure this out - What is your mounting bracket made of, steel, aluminum, other? What are your mounting screws made of, steel, aluminum, other? Where the bracket meets the truck, did you leave the paint intact or is there some bare metal for the bracket to mate up with? Is...

    CB antenna tuning

The Family Radio Service (FRS) is an improved walkie talkie radio system. This personal radio service uses channelized frequencies in the ultra high frequency (UHF) band. It does not suffer the interference effects found on citizens' band (CB) at 27 MHz. FRS uses frequency modulation (FM)...

What's next? ..... Here it is!

a question Cool lights MM - but how did you get around the computer system noticing the difference in the lights and going into limp mode? Or like most magicians are you going to keep it a secret?;) Keep up the good stuff, and hurry with the rear peg adapters!

    CB antenna tuning

As a 30+ year CB nut, I can offer the following on antenna tuning: 1) Ground is crucial! If the antenna mount is not properly grounded to the frame of the vehicle, you will never get it tuned. Use a jumper wire if you have to. 2) When using an SWR (standing wave ratio) meter to tune the...

Throttlemeister and J & M Spyder CB Kit

update 11) I noticed someone suggested taking the radio and antenna off of the Spyder and sending them to be tuned - don't - everything must be on the vehicle to tune the antenna properly!

    First/only one?

FYI Private Security is VERY different from Police/Sheriffs/Military Police-Security, etc., both by occupation and various laws and statutes. By the way, there are aprox. 800,000 peace officers (Police/Sheriffs) in the U.S. and over 1 million Security Officers. Rick

    First/only one?

After much research, I believe I have the very first Spyder used for PRIVATE SECURITY patrol work. (Not the same as Police, Sheriff, Marshalls, Consables, State Troopers - Private Security is a business, unlike the guys you pay your taxes to for their salaries). If anyone knows of any other...

    SE5 gear change thump!

At my factory demo ride, the BRP guy told me to upshift at about 4000 rpm - I have done this ever since I got my SE5 and it shifts smoothly with no letting off the throttle. The sweet spot seems to be between 3700 and 44400 rpms - shift other than in this range and I get the hard shift/clunk/thump.
