• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ah.. ok, I misunderstood that as a ranking 1/10 as bad, 10/10 being the highest.

    Farkle-Mas

1,2 and 3's out of 10 for installation, that doesn't rate very high? Can you elaborate if this was due to the (farkle) product side or BRP's design of the Spyder making things difficult on an otherwise easy install?

Chances of a plug in electric Spyder...

They floated the concept back in 2011 with a hybrid version. This time around, I think they should test market an E-Ryker version using the cheaper base platform - The Ryker would be ideal; riders who won't need a lot of range.

    Positive comments about Spyders

Keep it simple Our 08 GS has never needed a laser alignment and doesn't exhibit abnormal tire wear, it has never gone into limp mode, and other than a dead battery, rock thru the belt (even with the belt guard), and leaky exhaust gasket, it has never left us stranded.

    First impressions

I see you list an F3 in your sig as well as a GS before. Stock to stock, how do the three compare with respect to performance and comfort?

Why We Live Where We Do

The year that we spent on the road, traveling with the Spyder in our toyhauler, we saw a lot of great places to live. Our original open ended plan was to scope out possible retirement locations; possibly even keep traveling in the RV. But in the end we ended up returning to CO, because I think...

    storing your spyder

Dyer sheets, moth balls, stuff a rag up the exhaust and intakes. I'm not a fan of covers as critters like to nest under them. Keeping your storage area free of clutter - newspapers, boxes, leaves, anything that critters use as nesting materials, will not lure them near your spyder.

Why We Live Where We Do

I do miss the ocean, specifically the left coast. Grew up in the PNW with it's wild coastline and isolation. Spent a year in Laguna Beach, SoCal. Loved riding PCH and the canyons of Malibu, all the way to Santa Cruz.

15 minute Ryker (U Tuber) Ride Impression

Other than the atrocious, over the yellow, cornering lines, he did alright for a first timer. OK so we know this thing will do burnouts! :2thumbs:

Diving under braking.. not a sway bar problem. What shocks are you running and have you set the correct preload?

No choice have to get Baja Ron Sway Bar

Technique before money. Do you charge into corners, slam on the brakes, throw it into the turn and WOT it out? If so, stop that! Try working on SMOOTH transitions. Lots of riders throw money at the problem before they work on their technique. I've taught motorcycle riders, and almost to a one...

    Ryker 600 vs 900?

My guess is that 50hp from the 600 will be pretty slow on a 590lb (plus fluids and rider on top of that) bike. Maybe folks who are on a budget will choose it but I think most will go for the 900.
