• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Bad tattoo ideas

The ones I find funny are the spelling mistakes. https://www.google.com/search?q=tattoo+spelling+fails&num=100&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwju8oCjz67cAhWI8YMKHQDuCdkQsAQIKA&biw=1186&bih=648

    BRP HITCH VERTICAL PLAY (looseness)

Sort of related. Just this past week my brother told me about keeping a few composite door shims around, for just these kinds of problems. You know how draw bar receiver hitches rattle on your trucks? Stick a door shim in the gap between the draw bar and the receiver.

How many here are constantly hitting the Nanny Speed limit on curves

Wait... ELKAS? You (OP) mentioned you have Elkas. If they are the Elka Stage 2 shocks, there should be a red knob for rebound adjustment, in addition to preload via the spring collar. You said they cranked up the springs to prevent bottoming out. That stiffens up the shock, but could also make...

How many here are constantly hitting the Nanny Speed limit on curves

Reproducible? BEFORE you start messing with stuff, is this condition reproducible? Go find a clean road or level parking lot without obstructions and see if you can make it happen again. If it's a one time thing it might be that particular corner.

    Under $10,000 Spyder

Our $10000 Spyder is our GS. With all the complaints about the later models (yeah yeah, squeaky wheel and all, but there seems to be a lot of them) I think we'll keep our simpler Spyder until it falls apart. It's been trouble free in the 7 years we've owned it. Replacement with a newer...

    Cleaner Recommendations

Simple Green and the right tools Nothing makes wheel cleaning easier like the right tools. I spray on full strength simple green, let it soak while I soap down the rest of the Spyder. Then I take my wheel detailing brushes to the spokes and they come clean every time. I have a larger broad...

    Tire warranty

Great question, never thought of that before. I guess the tire mfg could conceivably refuse to honor the warranty (their warranty, their rules), but IMO that's kind of a dick move on their part. You could argue it's on a type J rim but still. Related question however, would BRP give you any...

We used the Helibar option. I can't recall if I also used a riser block. I'll have to check the spare parts bin.

    I need handlebar risers

To the OP What kind of riser do you need/want? Cut or no-cut? No cut blocks give you 1"-2" rise without cutting your bars to pieces, and can re-use your stock control cables. Cut ones require you to permanently cut your handlebars and *may* require longer cables. How much rise and / or how...

    Please Don't Feed The Lions!!

When we were in Yellowstone I could not believe how many people wanted to get close to bears and bison for a selfie. Every year we hear about tourists being gored or trampled by elk or moose here in the mountains, all because they couldn't comprehend the "wild" part of the word wildlife. And yet...

    Yummy BBQ Burgers

    Fuel

Even more complicated - altitude effects Here in Colorado, you can hardly find 93 octane. Most carry 85 / 87 / 91. My Spyder and my other bikes run fine on 87 at 6000ft, no need to pour my money down the tank. Once in a while I will put 91 in, but no seat of the pants data to tell if there's a...

    BRP a front for AARP?

What the.... This thread is so old it's back from the dead! Still in my late 50's, kicking and screaming about being dragged into the next decade. But I've embraced AARP on account of the senior discounts that members get.
