• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Towing question..RS vs RT

I can't provide any specific technical reason, other than the RT comes equipped with the option to put the Spyder in 'trailer mode' which provides more torque at a lower RPM (I believe), it does not allow you to shift below 4500 RPM, and downshifts (SE models) at 3500 RPM instead of 2000 RPM...

a new RT built specially for Women ????

Sorry, but I think that's a bit chauvinistic to think that women would need to have a 'special' Spyder made just for us. The only thing different that I can honestly say I would like to see is more pullback on the handlebars since women tend to have shorter arms than men. Other than that, any...

    Spyder Price

I'd be interested in the Elkas and rear trunk accessories if you decide to remove them. I can even ship my 2011 RT-S shocks to you if you no longer have the stock ones. PM me if interested. By the way, $24k sounds like a pretty fair price with everything on it. You probably didn't pay much...

    Deceived by BRP or Dealer??

When I read this part: "The purpose is to determine what, if any, electronic upgrades would be beneficial to the Can Am Spyder. As a Spyder Rider you are our best source of information." I interpreted it to say Guinea Pig. But it is very vague and I agree that the communication could have been...

    Audio system

Resurrecting this thread..... I am having the same issue with the mute/volume feature on my '11 RT-S and am wondering if exwinger was able to figure out the cause and whether it's been fixed...?? Or has anyone else experienced this and have gotten it fixed?

Would like to hear from users of the Radiator Fan Can

I think I understand....can you set them up so that the air takes the hot air away without feeling like you're being blown away by the wind? One of the things I love about my RT is the protected cabin area.

    Mounting a Zumo up high

That's a great idea! I think my only concern would be that the threads the bolt screws into are, I believe, brass and would be susceptible to stripping if you tighten the bolt too much. And you need to be sure you have that on snug otherwise the GPS is gonna bounce around. Were you...

    Spyder Stalling at idle !

I thought I read here somewhere that the Spyder will cut out if left idling for a specific period of time. Not trying to say there isn't an issue because mine has stalled on me while at stops, intermittently, but it did stall on me while idling in my garage the other day - I think it idled for...

Anyone have pics of the Baker Airwings on their RT's? I'm having a hard time understanding how they work to deflect the heat and would appreciate a pic.

    PAY IT FORWARD

GS/RS Items I have a set of stock grips off of a 2009 GS that are in great shape. I also have a set of ESI Billet Bolts caps in black that I never used when I installed their risers on my GS. Below is ESI's stock picture of it in chrome, but again, mine are black. If you're interested in...

    Spyder Stalling at idle !

There are several threads here on this issue that you might want to take a look at. Go into the SpyderWeb (link at top) and then do a search of "Stalling". You'll find many threads that may help you. The common suggestion in all of them though is to contact your dealer. Good Luck!

    Mounting a Zumo up high

Have you considered mounting it on the handlebar like this?: The picture is taken at my line of site while sitting on the seat. I do have to look down slightly, but it's really not very much (not as much as if it were factory mounted). Here is a side view of how it's mounted. I had a Ram...

    Trailer laws?

You should contact your DMV. I'm sure all trailers must be licensed, but not all states may require an actual license plate. :dontknow:

    Wiring for a trailer....

I'm not convinced that all RT trailer wiring is alike. I have a 2011 RT-S SE and tried to follow the pigtail schematic that Steve shows in his Mods thread, but it didn't match with the readouts I was getting from my RT's tongue harness. I purchased the BRP harness 710002029 and have an Aluma...
