• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    ECU remap for more torque

So I read that to be we can't just buy a 2nd hand ECU, send it to JASE to put the new map on and plug it into our bike. We need our particular ECU to be the base for the new map. So to have 2 ECUs you would still need to send Jase the ECU off your bike so he could copy that on to the spare...

    Good Price on 2017 F3-S?

It turns off / reduces the traction control intervention. Allows bigger burnouts and potentially donuts. Other than that it's pretty much pointless, IMO.

    f-3 brakes

I must correct my earlier post, you do need to remove rear wheel to replace disc. So price of £300 inc. disc is probably not that bad. I still think a competent independent bike shop could do it, espcially if you gave them a copy of the Work Shop Manual beforehand.

Sooooo I did a demo ryde last Saturday

Makes a big difference. I can echo some of your comments, we have a mixture of very good and terrible road surfaces here. The spyder does wander around a lot on poor roads and cambers - as you say it's just down to the 3 wheel design as it makes it very hard to keep all 3 wheels out of ruts...

See this thread too if you're interested in used: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?105306-Friend-just-purchased-a-used-2016-F3T Clearly some good deals out there by the sound of that.

    f-3 brakes

While we're on the subject of brakes - has anyone tried the Vesrah fully sintered pads? Read good things about their pads on-line and wondered if anyone had tried them on a Spyder?

    f-3 brakes

You certainly seem to have been unlucky with the brakes. Mine has over 11K miles on now and it's never squealed. Front pads will need doing soon but discs look fine all round.

    f-3 brakes

Not sure of a dealer would fit non oem or not, but you can only ask? As I presume you're now out of warranty see if you can find a local bike specialist who could change it. Mine won't go to a dealer now unless it's something I or anyone else can't fix. Most jobs like brakes etc can be done...

    Wilber shock install -Rear

Ah I see now, that's totally different than the non touring F3.

    f-3 brakes

That's about right for OEM, EBC do sell a rear replacement that's a bit cheaper here in the UK ~ £100. £80 for each of the fronts.

    F3 Adjusting switch block angle

Really easy, 2 hex bolts to undo the metal cuff and the short bar that the controls are attached to will come out. Controls come apart with 4 small hex bolts to get them off the small rod but this is not required to swap the bars. Only had to do that to fit the heated grips. Not many jobs on...

    F3 Top end power loss

I've nto experienced this, but the issue raises a few questions. Did it start after the idler was fitted and have you tried removing it and seeing if it stops? Also on the new rear rim and tyre, is it an OEM tyre or other replacement? May have changed the gearing if it's a bigger size.

Hey F3T owners - I want your bags.

Another option are viking bags hard bags. There are some pictures on here of F3 installs. I was considering them befroe gettting the SHADs.

Hey F3T owners - I want your bags.

I would agree that I don't think you'll get the F3-T Bags on an F3-S. Have you considered the SHAD bags, best alternative in my opinion. I was considering a swap to a T to get the extra storage but then the SHADs came along and no need now.

    Spyder in the shop!

Answer from BRP is that it is not required to shift at any particular rpm range, so nothing to worry about. I find the engine bogs down below 2500 rpm but will not always shift down itself. I'm shfting at around 3500rpm and staying above 3000rpm and find it feels happy there, but it's down to...

Aggressive riding in the curves question

That's my main experience of the VSC kicking in, the invisible hand sums it up prefectly. Hard accelerations from 30mph+ with any steering angle on will cause a kind of 'pause' in the power delivery. I thought there was a flat spot in the power band until I realised it was the VSC stopping me...

    RT Sway Bar?

And if you're happy with it as it is then I would leave it alone. I was distinctly unhappy with the amount of body roll so I knew I needed to upgrade something be it anti-roll, shocks etc. The RT bar did enough to make it good enough for now, although it could be even better.

    RT Sway Bar?

I was more meaning that previous RT owners who swapped to the Ron Bar might not have taken their old one with them, so he might have them knocking about somewhere. But if not, and you can't find an RT owner with one going spare, then it is a considerable cost if you're unsure. As stated before...
