• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RT Sway Bar?

Why not ask if he's got any of those discarded standard RT ones (from 2014-on models - previous aren't compatible) he took off knocking around that you can get cheap? At least you won't be $300+ out of pocket if you don't think it makes enough of a difference. You might get one for nothing if...

    RT Sway Bar?

There's no need for a test, a stiffer anti-roll bar will make any vehicle corner flatter. It's all in the name. The RT anti-roll bar is stiffer than the F3 one, so an F3 with one fitted will roll less than a standard one. The Baja Ron one for the F3 is stiffer again than the standard RT one...

    RT Sway Bar?

Just to add my two penneth to the debate I would strongly recommend the RT swaybar as a low cost F3 upgrade. Mine was free off a member on here while I was in Florida on holiday. I find it does make a difference going round tight radius corners and roundabouts. Before I always felt the Spyder...

    Spyder in the shop!

Did they check the front pulley as per previous thread? That would explain a sudden complete loss of drive better than a worn clutch.

Possible Shad top box mounting solution

I've asked if this will be a SHAD or BRP marketed product and it will be SHAD, so not sold as a kit through dealers. I'm personally thinking this is better as the mounts can then be paired with any top box - plus they are bound to be less expensive that way. Hoping to have an ETA soon....

Possible Shad top box mounting solution

That's the one I'm looking at, it's massive and will co-ordinate nicely with the side bags. If you have the Baker Built rack I don't see why the SH58X wouldn't mount to that? This review shows some pictures of the mounting plate...

Possible Shad top box mounting solution

No offence to the baker built rack (I'm sure it's very well made) but it's a bit too 'rustic' looking for me, not OEM enough. It would also cost me a ridiculous amount to import to the UK. The SHAD gear has one advantage for those of us in Europe - it's made in Spain so it's cheaper here...

Possible Shad top box mounting solution

I've been pestering SHAD for the last 8 months about a top box mount for the F3 and I've just had news that they will be producing one. Should be available within 2-3 months. Not certain at this point whether it will be a BRP kit like the side bags, or just a mounting kit sold by SHAD. I'll...

    Spyder in the shop!

Glad you're getting it fixed under warranty, result  As for the 4000rpm, that's the 2nd time that's cropped up in a week from a BUDS report going to BRP. I'm strongly suspecting that someone at BRP HQ is linking lower RPM driving with clutch wear and insufficient oil pressure. As I...

    Shop Side panel removal

Mine were extremely tight the first time I removed them but have been fine since. I'm careful not to overtighten them when refitting.

    ECU remap for more torque

Agree, this would be a straight replacement for the existing map based on stock components as it's coming rom BRP themselves - not a tuner. So would not require any rolling road time to set it up. Obviously anyone who has changed exhaust, removed secondary CAT etc. will have a different...

    ECU remap for more torque

Thanks, the TSB would indeed be very handy as I can try that on a UK dealer then. The UK and Aus/NZ united being pretty much the same will certianly help.

    ECU remap for more torque

Yeah but you're missing the point. It's not really about the extra horsepower (although that's a nice bonus for those occassional full bore overtakes) but more about making it just nicer to drive. Every vehicle I've had remapped just felt smoother afterwards.

    ECU remap for more torque

Mmmm, ok. I'll have to contact some dealers here and see if I get any joy. Found this advert for a used Spyder in Perth with the same remap mentioned: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/south-perth/motorcycles/can-am-spyder-f3s-se6-2015-low-kms-with-ecu-remap/1145782390

    ECU remap for more torque

I know, they just haven't been popular here over the years- there's been less than 500 registered in the UK since 2008. Price doesn't help, just too much money by the time you add our 20% VAT on. That's why I imported mine from Germany - saved a lot of money :firstplace:

    ECU remap for more torque

Ahh, well that is good news - I'm now officially hopeful that someone in the UK will acquire the map and start offering a remap service. BIggest drawback here is that there are only five can-am dealers in the whole country and AFAIK only one non franchise mechanic. If you find out the name of...

    Spyder in the shop!

JC beat me to it on the clutch in vehicle semi-auto applications. The internet is full of stories of failures where the manufacturers refuse to repair them even in the warranty period. It's one of the reasons I stick to good old fashioned torque converters as they are bulletproof. The sudden...

    ECU remap for more torque

My biggest question on this is whether the bikes that have been remapped were both SM6 models? This could be harder to achieve on the SE6 due to the gearbox settings in the ECU. In my experience of vehicle remaps they appear more quickly for manual models then semi autos. Gearbox settings can...

    Spyder in the shop!

Thanks for the update. I'm interested in what BRP say when the analyse the BUDS report and if there's anything there that contributed to the early failure - such as the stop start traffic you mention on your commute.

    ECU remap for more torque

This sounds exactly like my experience of remapping cars. They were always nicer to drive afterwards
