• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Kaoko Throttle Assist

Have one on my BMW GS, works great, have had it on the Spyder 2 weeks. I added Oxford Heated grips(a MUST) at the same time I installed the throttle lock, it does not seem to grip as solid as on the BMW but so far it works OK, I noticed I have to twist it a little bit more to keep it tight. Ride...

    Am I getting old?

Don't Pay Too Much There are plenty of these for sale in Texas, people buy them...don't like them or whatever...have to take the hit to get rid of it. I picked up your basic showroom new condition Spyder with 674 miles, one year left on factory warranty with a heavy duty Big Tex trailer to haul...

    As a new intrested owner

If you have never had a BMW,Honda etc you will probably be very happy, its not that it's bad but just not as good as it could be. Great example, compare a BMW tank bag to the Can Am tank bag- there is absolutely no comparison on the quality/workmanship. Also keep in mind that you can buy two Can...

    Hellooooo.*coughs* :D

Dual Sport...Spyder maybe?? Have had a Spyder for a month, I was thinking the same way since I am a Dirt Biker at heart but forget about it. They are unique machines for sure but if BMW, Honda, Yamaha etc came out with one, Can Am sales would be dropping quickly. You are use to a bike you could...

    Primary sprocket

30 Tooth Sprocket I totally agree with you on this sprocket issue, I am also new to these unique machines with lots of MC and Kart experience. I have brought this topic up along with others but these folks dont seem to see any problem with screaming down the road at a much higher RPM than is...

32 MPG Avg on 2300 mi trip

Fuel Mileage I still can't figure out how a Honda Civic(or whatever small car) can get about 40 mpg on the highway yet a motorcycle with less HP, less frontal area, less rubber on the road gets less mileage...?

    HARLEY VERSUS SPYDER

Harley Vs. Anything Yes it's a sad to think how uninformed so many people must be when they buy a bike, kind of an embarrassment to motorcyclist, but you have to give them credit, they somehow have kept people buying those things year after year- now that is real marketing Genious. Don't try to...

    Demo Ride in Wildwood, NJ

That was a funny clip, I don't ride as much as the average 20,000-24,000 miles per year BMW rider but my GS doesn't spend that much time in the garage, I live in Ft.Worth Texas, it was in Crested Butte Co. last week, then up that rocky road to Mirror Lake @11,000ft with my wife leaning against...

    Demo Ride in Wildwood, NJ

Demo Ride $28k No Thanks I'm with you, that's nut to ask $28k for a machine that has a little v twin trying to push that much weight/ wind resistance. I think Can Am has a great idea but is just using what they have to put this machine together, problem is we have no other choice for this...

AMSOIL Where is it made? How is it Shipped? Who pays the Shipping?

Amsoil That is a great offer on a great product, I started using Amsoil 15 years ago Kart Racing. Those little 100cc Yamaha motors turn 14,000 rpm and wear out rings often, Mike one of the clubs motor builders had a guy that raced every weekend, each time they pulled the head, the ring gap was...

    My Handbrake Story

Handbrake I am totally lost without the front brake lever, my two wheeler applies some back brake with the front lever so I barely use the pedal, the Spyder is taking some serious adjusting to for me. The front brake lever is a great idea, should come stock with them from the factory to me but...

    30 Tooth Sprocket-new Spyder owner

30 Tooth Sprocket Thank you R1100rider, I guess I have gotten use to that tall geared, low reving shaft driven single sided swingarm bike, it just makes me think of just how great these Spyders could be. I know it would not get the 50 mpg my R1200RT gets but the 30 tooth would have to help, the...

    30 Tooth Sprocket-new Spyder owner

30 Tooth Sprocket That's great information on the belt drive also about the belt tension and worn shafts, I see I have a lot to learn since this is a lot different machine than I have ever owned before. This Spyder only had 650 miles/ 1 year old so hopefully there has not been any shaft damage...

    30 Tooth Sprocket-new Spyder owner

30 Tooth Sprocket Thanks for the response, I do realize this is a higher reving engine than say a BMW Boxer, I am also a dirt bike guy that has run 2 strokes that require high RPM to produce HP, they also have short lifespans due to several things especially the higher RPM's they run at. This...

    30 Tooth Sprocket-new Spyder owner

I am trying to get use to this Spyder, after riding BMW's, this engine revs WAY too much at highway speeds not to mention the poor fuel mileage. I have read on the forum of guys with the 30 tooth driver sprocket but seems they are not currently made, I found a guy that had a Brand New one he...
