• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking about purchase of Garmin Zumo

There are a lot more current Garmin GPS units out there that can be bought for 1/3 the price of a Garmin Zumo 660.... They may not be stamped "Motorcycle friendly" or "waterproof" but they are actually better in terms of features & operation and a small zip-lock baggie can take care of the...

    What type of gas CAN?

When I was looking for a small gas can to fit in the RT rear side compartments I decided to give this one a try even though it is not a Reda or Rotax. I picked this one mainly to get away from the crazy pouring spouts dictated by US Govt regs that always seem to cause a lot more spills...

    ATV Jack

Both Sears and Harbor Freight sell a Jack like that... I first bought the HF Yellow Jack but after a while got tired of the fast uncontrolled drop down. I finally sold the Yellow Jack and replaced it with the one below from HF.... Yes, it does cost twice as much, but it weighs far less and can...

Spyder RT Canisterectomy Made Easy video

Why not? I thought it was advantageous to tie the vent hose high near the airbox so that any accumulation of fuel could drip back into the tank, instead of down the vent hose....

Not any time soon.... 2012 RT Ltd loaded with mods and lots of time & money invested in getting it just where I like it. Maybe I'll look at a 2015 but am in no hurry!

    Jacking up Spyder with Halo

Protecting the Halo lights with a wood block... I use a wood block with a channel routed in it to protect the Halo lights when lifting the bike. So far it has worked fine and I even got the dealer Tech to use it once during a service...

Do I have the correct hose??

Yes, there is a pair of them, one to the left and one to the right... Even if they are soft and seem ok, try pulling on them slightly. If they come off easily, they need replacement... My Rt seemed to run a lot smoother after I replaced mine even though I was not having a problem.

    Vacum hose ID

I have checked those 2 hoses many times when I had my RT opened up, but always just wiggled them a little and they seemed fine. Today, when I checked them, I pulled slightly on one and was shocked that the end on the throttle body was so loose it came off easily in my hand... it looked like the...

Mounting a Stebel Nautilus Air Horn on the RT

I have not heard of any spyder owners having "issues like blowing fuses" from using only the oem wiring, but I have heard that using both horns together (oem+Stebel) with a relay is the loudest combination of all...
