• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Review: New owner impressions

To me a very interesting evaluation. Curious about your awareness of front tire limitations. I read they are long-lasting compared to my lifetime experiences with motorcycle tires.

What size are the 4 bolt holes in LINQ bracket?

Crazy to me someone has not responded. Lots of them are around with nothing in the holes so easy to check. Maybe people do not know what that is. The MaxMount... Mine are used and filled. Don't seem to remember them as anything special but common 1/4 20 or something like that. Then again...

Charging a Garmin Drive Smart from USB

Tested my Garmin Zumo XT with the SD ports. Worked fine. They ran both my phone and the Zumo at the same time. Later hot-wired the mount so not using it because of the waterproof issue with an open charge port using the SD cord.

Minimalistic gear extension - Fixed vs Moving Lever

A different way to do it. Surely well made and looks less obtrusive than the big vertical levers. With all of them you loose the ability to do any foot shifting if you choose. Plus, they cost $$$$ My solution to bending way down and reaching way out is the addition of the very common motorcycle...

Itchy Boots New Motorcycle Adventure Started

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMvfS5mbsiI Itchy Boots started her new season. She did not go to Japan, Asia or Australia/New Zealand. She is now starting her motorcycle adventures in Africa. Watched her for two years travel on motorcycle from Patagonia to the Arctic Ocean. She is something...

    Circle Of Life

Sure agree with that. Wife and I took a Harley trike for a ride maybe 5 years ago. Hideous. Made a hard left after crossing some railroad tracks and puckered up. Left rear tire came off the ground. From a guy who can "fly the chair" on his 1944 U Model Harley with sidecar, that trike...

F4 Windshield Evaluation - for Passenger

Another update. Just rode 75 mph for a number of miles with very strong wind gusts from the side. Now normally that would throw us around and cause me grief from the wife behind me. Well, she thought it was fine and praised the windshield. All you need to know about the F4.

F4 Windshield Evaluation - for Passenger

My wife flunked multiple tries at the Motorcycle Safety Foundation courses. Even special teaching failed. I tried and all she did was wreck, then wreck some more. Futile. Now at age 75 she is long past learning to ride anything, even a Ryker. She still loves to ride on the back of a Harley. Now...

F4 Windshield Evaluation - for Passenger

Maybe not a super evaluation but a comparison with both the Sport and the BRP Adventure shields. I liked the Sport shield, small and perfect for my face, the wife hated it. Too much wind and buffeting behind me. So I bought the Adventure shield - 150% larger and still looked good to me. Well...

    Home built floorboards for Ryker

So they are welded on top of the footpegs? Had boards like that above the pegs that reduced the seat to footage distance, not good for longer legs. If you lift up the pegs do they go far enough to loosen and change the position?

    Four Year's on - Ryker owner's report

Really appreciate the information about the tires and CVT belt life. Was wondering about both. Interesting how you do not use luggage and I have two saddlebags and the top box. Use them often for clothes, rain suits, groceries and things after shopping plus tools and other items I use.

    F4 Custom Windshield Experience Anyone?

7Jurock never responded to my inquiries. I do not think they make anything for the Ryker. Yesterday I had a phone conversation with Slingmods. Told them I called and called F4 Customs. They have a phone number listed in their ads. You call it and keep getting another number. Left messages and...

Need to Remove Comfort Seat without breaking Tabs or lifting Clam Shell?

Bringing this thread up to say that guy never changed the seat. No clue if he removed the comfort seat he has and used the one he got from me.

Anyone know a way of Finding more legroom on a Ryker?

Rode quite a bit today. Everything I said is correct. The answer was a set of those Can Am boards and removing the extended/padded brake pedal cover. Kind of surprised that extended cover was not a good thing. Surprised that with these boards it is way better and simply "right" to have the...

    R.I.P. Barney's Dealerships

There is/was a Baneys in Bradenton, Florida. Went there a few times for clothing and curiosity. Always friendly. Thanks for the alert on the ownership change. Though close to me I try to avoid those nasty urban rides and traffic. Figured the Can Am dealer in Bradenton, and the far one in...

New LED Bulbs Are IN and Tested.

Are they ones with those big fans on the back and a thick plastic base? I bought a set like that and could not get them to fit. The lock ring would not lock and they would need a headlight removal at least to get the left side in past those wires. Gave up and got ones without the fan base and a...

Did anyone add that steering stabilizer/dampener to their Ryker?

Interesting about stability with the 2022's. My Sport does seem stable. That F4 windshield any help with buffeting for a passenger?

    Done some mods today

So now you do not need a key? I would like that. Have to check on that to see what it is. Slingmods did not ban me but challenged my review of some floorboards. Would not post the review as it was negative. Makes me question other reviews.

New LED Bulbs Are IN and Tested.

DickB may have the right idea about bulb quality. Finally did a night ride test. Low beam shows decent lighting to the sides and right in front of the bike. The past that there is a darker shadow. Still have the road visible but not enough to my liking. You can outdrive the low beams easily...
